This is my partner Helen getting a nice hug a very friendly Police officer at Eastbourne Mardi Gras. I have seen Sussex Poice Officer SC2935 at a few events and he is always great, he dances with people, poses for photos, gives advice etc. He is a great example of positive policing, something I’d like to see much more of in the future.

This was one of my photos from the first ever Eastbourne Gay Pride or Mardi Gras as they had to call it (long story). On the stage were a very good ABBA tribute group. I had some fun with the editing of this photo and converted it to a selective colour picture, keeping just the one bright coloured raibow flag. The event was big as very well supported, but sadly the weather wasn’t great, so we didn’t stay all day, hopefully we will for the 2018 one! :)

This is Peter Tatchell a human rights activist. He does a lot of work fighting for the rights of all humans, but in particular anybody LGBT! This was taken at Eastbourne Pride where he was in the parade. I have heard him talk a few times, most of what he says is great, but I have heard him booed a few times. He claims to be non political, but has very left wing views (so do I!), so he does annoy right wing people (not that I have a problem with that!). He also speaks out against the police, something I am less supportive of, I am not saying all police officers are great, especially when it comes to LGBT issues, but some definitely are!

This is my dog Squid at Eastbourne Pride, which was officially called Eastbourne Mardi Gras, due to complications with the local council!!! As far as I know Squid is vey much straight, but does love dressing up for any event as it gets him lots of cuddles from everybody. Squid is a Parson Russell Terrier, which is very much like a Jack Russell Terrier, but with longer legs and a few other minor differences!

I decided the best way to start this off would be by introducing myself! My name is Dean and I am 43 years old, I live neaI decided the best way to start this off would be by introducing myself! My name is Dean and I am 43 years old, I live near the south coast of England, near where the Battle of Hastings was. The photo below is me! :) I am out with most people as Pansexual, a term I know some people still don't understand. Sometimes I say Bisexual as that's easier to understand, but there is much more to it than that. Most Bisexuals like a certain type of woman and a certain type of man, but for Pansexuals it is all about tbe person inside, rather than labels and genders. I could just as easier fancy an 18 year old man as I could a 70 year old woman, I don't have a physical type, more of an emotional type. I am more often attracted to women, there is something about femininity that I do like, but I like that trait in men, plus transgender people etc. too!  That reminds me, I am also gender fluid! Anyway one of my favourite types of event to photograph are Gay Pride ones!!! So far I have only been to Gay Pride events in Brighton, Hastings and Eastbourne, but would love to visit more one day. This page is about Pride events world wide, sadly i8n some countries not only is having pride events illegal, but in some just being in a same sex relationship can be punished by death, my thoughts go out to anybody LGBT living in those places! :'(
