Ideas for third screen project âArchitecture building (the stairs)Â
Using jitters to digitise video from an external source, in this case the webcam.
 In this patch the object âjit.grabâ grabs frames from the camera every 30 milliseconds, the video is then adjusted with the âjit.dimmapâ object. The values of each frame can be accessed through the âjit.3mâ list which reports the minimum, mean, and maximum values. The mean list is unpacked showing the RGB colours values. The live video captured from the webcam interacts with sound because the red, green and blue values are connected through âselectâ to three messages displaying different tone rates of the âsaw~â oscillator, therefore whenever a colour change is made on camera a tone relating to the colour is played.Â
testing the projector in halls : there were some technical problems with accessing the video file through the media box, the file played the first time but I wasnât unable to play it for the second time . Setting up the projector was a fairly straightforward task however I couldnât play the video in a loop via media box.
Setting it up thought a laptop would have been a better choice as I would have more control on how long the video would have been played.Â
For the short time the video was on colours werenât that bright, Documenting the process wasnât as easy as expected, the projection on pictures donât look as vibrant as in real life.
Decided that instead of a video I should create a gif (with the hope that it will play loop itself.

Dismantling LCD screens
Non Musical sounds.
1. downloaded free alphabet sounds. The Matrix switch control (matrixctrl) is bigger to represent the 26 letter in the alphabet, resulting in 26 rows. Notice that you can create interesting geometric patterns in the grid. Because the columns are set up to be 8 there isnât enough space to create a linear pattern.
2. downloaded voices saying words, it resulted in creating nonsensical type of sounds. Both Patches depending on its velocity produces a disturbed noise like  people talking at the same time and interrupting each other.
Two types of drums machines using Max 8.
1.mix of randomised and sequence playing three  parts of a drum kit. HiHat , Kick and Snare.
2. a more controlled way to create the sound is by using the Matrix Switch Control (matrixctrl) that provides interface control through a group of cells in a grid. The value in the message (0110) is then âslicedâ into a list (zl.slice) to select the value 1 that equals to a selected cell in the grid. (four parts of a drum kit is being played)

Rotated the image while editing the code on text editâ drastic change of colour , I was able to create a sort of frame.

Surprised with what find and replace can do. I am convinced that is is the combination of data bending techniques (deleting +find and replace) that gave me this result, however is worth trying the same find and replace on the same picture to test it.

Using the find and replace method I was able to create subtle picture distortion, some coloured noise and static looking stripes. With hex editor the editing of the characters in the code is more controlled, this could be ideal if I want to create small changes in the glitching method.
At this stage I thought that it would be interesting to experiment with glitching pictures of an object taken from different angles to explore similarities and differences, and also explore more glitching  aesthetic. I thought I could play with the transparency of the png format and layer images underneath it.
Two almost identical photographs taken with a digital camera. I have opened the two files with text edit , they presented with the same exact heather showing  the  date and information of the camera brand
I have used the âfind and replaceâ method in both textedit reading ,to find and substitute characters âGPâ to âGGâ , consequently I have then picked all âGGâ characters and changed back to âGPâ . Â Both pictures presented similar stripe glitch but with different colours. I believe this was just the result of luck as I could have applied this method y using different lettersets and it would have probably corrupted both files.
So far I have experimented databending on files downloaded from the internet, therefore I had no control on the creating of the pic itself, I have no idea of how the image was taken ,when it was taken or if they made any visual editing on the image.
I think the next step of getting to know more about the methods on image code editing is to take similar pictures of the same objects and see if there are any differences or similarities. Â
Opening and editing bmp images as an audio
I have selected a portion of the audio and I have applied the echo effect. The image appear to have a visible âechoâ of the image, the effect created a visual interpretation of the figure of the statue echoing pithing the the picture. The distortion made three visible unclean sections. Different adjustments on the echo effect would probably create more images repetition .
Used the inverted effect on this one. The position of the audio wave was physically inverted. I assume this effect physically inverted the code of the image.Â
