            PAUSING a moment, trying to get her breathing straight after working through an especially hard dance number. usually she’d just do most of her dancing right in the comfort of her penthouse, but it was too nice a day out to not us the outdoor studio downtown. a sound broke from behind her, smile coming to her face as she turned to see a girl.

Oh..She had gotten the other girls attention with her clapping. She hadn’t meant to clap but the other girls dance number was pretty amazing so she couldn’t help but to clap once the other girl was done with her dance. She rubbed the back of her neck and gave a small friendly smile. 

“Y-You did really well! L-Like...That d-dance was super amazing....!”

“O-Oh! I’m v-very sorry for stepping on your f-foot! I-It’s just very crowded o-out here today and I j-just got kind of p-pushed around and s-stumbled! I r-really didn’t mean to s-step on your foot..A-Are you alright?” She asked the stranger, a worried expression on her face.

“Ah. It’s no big deal.” Stepping is just a bit of an understatement for what it felt like - but in such a tight space, he wasn’t going to cause a scene. If he did, there’d be tabloids out for him about it, he’s almost positive. “I’m fine- yeah. You didn’t drop anything, did you? It was my bad, I wasn’t paying much attention to where I was going.”

“A-Are you sure?” She asked quietly. She knew that she had stepped down rather hard and she really hoped that she hadn’t hurt his foot. “..I-If you say so.” She then shook her head slowly, though she did glance down to make sure that she hadn’t actually dropped something. Nope. She didn’t. “No..I didn’t drop a-anything and I-It’s fine..It was my bad too..If I had w-watched out for the people around me then I m-might’ve been able to avoid being p-pushed around and stumbling..”

Izumi glanced down and then her eyes widened when she saw the small child. Where had he even come from? How long had he been there? She wasn’t sure. She slowly crouched down to his level and gave him a small smile. “Hey there, little one. What’re you doing all by yourself?”

Izumi had decided that today was going to be the day that she learned how to control her ability....Though she really didn’t know where to start with it all. Maybe she could try to make a flame in her hand? She had tried before but it never really would work with her but she was going to force it this time. She would make a flame and she would control it! She glanced around to make sure nobody was around to see her since she was out sitting on a bench in a public park. Okay good, nobody was looking this way or near her right now. She slowly took her glove off of her right and and then just focused on trying to make a small flame in her hand. She stared at her hand and tried her hardest but she just couldn’t make a flame. Ugh. She set her hand down in her lap and then took a glance around, though her eyes widened when she saw that someone was now sitting on the bench with her. “H-Huh?!” When had they gotten there?! How had she not heard them? She must’ve been really focused. 

She quickly put her glove back on her hand and then gave a friendly smile to the stranger. “U-Um...H-Hello..Y-You kind of s-startled me...Eh heh heh.”

“E-Eh....?” Izumi stared at the male for a moment before reaching her gloved hands up and pulling her earbuds out. She hadn’t heard anything that he had said because she had her music turned up pretty high. “I-I’m so very sorry! C-Could you r-repeat that, please?”

Where was it? Where was the book that she wanted? She scanned the shelves in the library and then finally she spotted it. “Yes!” She quietly cheered before reaching up to grab the book, though she stopped when her gloved hand made contact with another hand instead of the book. She quickly retracted her hand and glanced over at the person who the other hand belonged to. “Oh..S-Sorry! Y-You can have the b-book...!”

“A..Are you sure..?” She didn’t want to intrude upon the girl’s afternoon or events planned out already, but was thankful enough the stranger was willing to help her. “I wouldn’t want to distract you in any way. ..Oh..!” She stops short to properly introduce herself in a small bow to the girl, “I am sorry. My name is Abi.”

“Mhm..I-I’m sure. It’s fine..!” She said quickly, giving the other girl a friendly smile. “Distract m-me? No no..Y-You wont..” It was pretty hard for someone or something to distract Izumi. She arched a brow when the other girl suddenly stopped and then bowed but then she understood when she introduced herself. “..N-No need to apologize! My n-name is Izumi...U-Um..It’s nice to meet you, A-Abi..”

“Miss..? Excuse me, but I was wondering if you could redirect me to the local library?” A new city was a pain when navigating and skirting around traffic and unfamiliar storefronts. Yet so far she was successful in finding the convenience store and was now bent on finding the library one way or another..!

Oh..W-Wait me?” She pointed to herself, trying to make sure that the other girl was talking to her, though when she took a glance around and saw nobody else nearby she knew that the other girl had to be talking to her. “A-Ah! Sure thing..I was a-actually on my way there r-right now s-so you can just f-follow me i-if you w-want to..”
