We are so sorry that you are the worst:) (chapter 12)
-It’s been a very hectic day. I really ought to go to sleep now.Galvana muttered, then lay down in bed—forgetting take her pills.
The night passed quickly, and morning arrived; Galv woke up earlier than usual and went to wash up. When she entered the bathroom and looked in the mirror, she felt a strange sensation—as if she were somehow "wrong" and her bodydoes not belong to her. This feeling stifled all her joy and good spirits, leaving a sudden, hollow emptiness deep within her.Gal barely managed to wash up, then went to have breakfast. She hardly ate a thing. Afterward, she got ready for school, aiming for a more feminine look (after all, she needed to bring back her sense of joy).
And just as Galvana was nearing the school, she ran into Glaishur.
-That's good. By the way, why are you wearing a skirt and a bow in your hair? You usually wear shorts or pants. And you hardly ever wear a bow.
-Um... I've got something going on.
-Like what? —Shur gave Vana a suspicious look.
-Umm... How should I said this... — Gal slowly shifted her gaze back.
-Ehh... Something bad again?
-Can we talk about it later?
Glaishur sighed and then nodded. As a friend, he was terrified for Gal, but she couldn't say anything because of her fear.
At school, Glai and Galv met other friends, talked for a bit, and then went to class.
In class, the rest of the classmates were silent at first. But after the first two classes, they started shouting their "compliments."
-Why does our 'girl' still look like a boy—just in a skirt?
-Hahahaha... You stupid, you'll never be able to pull off a transfem look! It just makes you look ugly.
-A boy in a skirt with a bow—snap a pic, quick!
Gal had to endure similar things. But she couldn't take it anymore and ran off to a place where she felt comfortable and safe from anyone bothering her—specifically, the school restroom, a place rarely visited by others.
Once she had locked herself inside the school restroom, Gal first looked at her reflection and began to cry.
-You were never a real girl.
-That’s not your body. You aren't that feminine.
-They’re right; sometimes you look like a boy.
Galvana heard these words spoken by the voices in her head. There was nothing she could do but weep, feel empty, and sense that her body was not the one she felt it should be.
Gal’s solitude didn’t last long. Six minutes later, the others walked into the restroom and found Vana.
-Are you okay? Attmoz whispered softly.
-Please, leave me alone. With those words, Gal continued to cry.
-Hey, do you want us to listen to you, and then we can go for a walk together? Buzz said gently. As a good friend, she was terrified that Gal might do something drastic to herself at home if she didn't get some support.
-Of course, Tumbra replied very gently and caringly.
After hearing this, Gal looked at the others. She was ready to open up about her feelings to the people she trusted deeply.
I’ll be honest with you guys... Lately, I sometimes feel empty when I see myself in photos or in the mirror. My hallucinations tell me I’m not a girl. I’ve even noticed that people seem to call me a girl less often these days. I also get the feeling that this isn't my body—after all, my physique doesn't look like a girl's...
-Do you have gender dysphoria?
-Mhm. Tears welled up in Galv's eyes again. It was painful for her to admit and share this—she was afraid of being judged and rejected.
-Oh... That’s not great. How did it come up today?
-I think I forgot to take my meds, and then it started.
-By the way, what causes euphoria? Pentumbra muttered quietly, looking into Galvana's eyes.
-Lately, I’ve been dreaming of a new dress or a skirt with a cute T-shirt—clothes like that make me so happy. And whenever I eat tasty treats, I feel so joyful.
Then Pent looked at the other guys; he knew what to do, and they understood him immediately.
The friends chatted with Galvana for a little while longer just to calm her down, then said their goodbyes and headed home.
While Galv was at home doing her homework, the others went out and bought her everything she had ever dreamed of. Once they left the store, they called and invited her out; she happily agreed to join them.
And so Vana went outside and saw the guys. She couldn't believe they'd prepared something for her.
-Guys?... Did you go shopping? Gal said with a questioning and slightly surprised tone.
-Yes, we bought you some presents.
And Gal froze. She hadn't expected her friends to buy her anything.
Pentumbra handed the bag to Vana, and her friend took it. The two of them hung out for a while and then headed home. Once home, Galv decided to check out the gift. She carefully took everything out of the bag and was stunned. The dress, skirts, and T-shirts looked so amazing that she was left speechless—and then she realized they were actually her size, too. She was so overjoyed she felt like tearing the place apart.
When she called the guys, she was ready to squeal with joy into the receiver.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! It’s the best gift I’ve ever received in my life.
-Oh, it’s nothing... mumbled Buzzinga.
-We’re always ready to make you happy, Glai and Tumbra said in unison.
The friends talked a bit longer and then went to bed (and Galvana didn't forget to take her medicine). The next day, Galvana decided to go for a walk with her friends; she put on a new dress and headed out. They had a wonderful time, and—most importantly—Gal was happy.
guys are the best; I now know they are true friends who would do anything for my happiness. © Galvana
