Walter Moers has a thing about spiders. Or at least about beings with eight legs or more.
@glowingtitle has aked me too elaborate, so here it is
A lot of Walter Moers' Zamonia books feature at least one evil spider:
The 13.5 Lives of Captain Bluebear has the Spiderwitch, which catches Bluebear in a web, tries to eat him and chases him through the forest. It has eight legs. The Witch in Ensel und Krete, as well as all the weird things happening in the Great Forest in that book, is caused by, or at least connected to, the burning of the Spiderwitch's corpse.
The City of Dreaming Books has the Spinxxxx, a sixteen legged, spidery thing. Granted it's only really important in one scene, but it's description in the book is pretty gross and it is very hard to kill. Unfortunately the Spinxxxx was cut from the City of Dreaming Books play in Labyrinth.
Rumo has several manylegged, somewhat spidery things. There are the Nurns, which have eight legs, and one tries to kill the protagonist and eats a bird. There's also the Vrahoks, which the Wiki describes as "crab-like", so not necessarily spiders, but they still have 12 legs. And the Zamonia Lexikon does compare them to spiders several times.
The Isle of a Thousand Lighthouses has Cloud Spiders. They drop eggs, which then hatch into more Cloud Spiders, which is really gross. They are spawn of the Big Cloud and involved in the destruction of Eydernorn. They have a lot of legs in their picture on the Zamonien Wiki.
The Alchemasters Apprentiece technically doesn't have a spider, but the Snowwhite Widow is pretty obviously a play on the Black Widow, a type of spider, and you could make an argument for her hairs being a very large number of appendages.
Qwert doesn't have any prominent spiders or manylegged beings, but it does feature Crystal Scorpions, which are Arachnids, just like spiders, and can also trigger Arachnophobia.
Der Bücherdrache, Weihnachten auf der Lindwurmfeste and Das Einhörnchen das Rückwärts Leben Wollte don't have any prominent spiders I can think of, but it's been a while since I read them so feel free to correct me.
Princess Insomnia is an outlier, as the Spider of Remembrance is not antagonistic and actually helps the protagonist instead of trying to kill them.
There's also the fact that, according to one of the translators notes in City of Dreaming Books, the Zamonian Alphabet has an extra letter representing manyleggedness that is present in every name of a being with more than eight legs. It was translated as the xxxx in the Spinxxxx's name and then never brought up again.
The really interesting thing about all these beings is that most of them lack parts of traditional spiders, like hairy legs or eight eyes, but still keep the build with a torso on many (usually very long) legs.
It's also interesting to note that Nurns, Vrahoks and Spinxxxx all have tentacles on top of their many legs.
And that you will not notice Nurns, Spinxxxx and the Spiderwitch until it's already to late. The Spiderwitch catches her prey by making them hallucinate, so they don't even notice when they get caught in her web, and Nurns and Spinxxxx blend in with their respective enviroments of the Nurn Forest and the Catacombs.
Also all of these spiders are bigger than the protagonists.
In conclusion: Zamonia has many creatures with many legs and most of them want to kill you
