If it is not ensured by Eywa, then I shall have to ensure it myself. I know of my personal skills and power, and I shall in no way hesitate to showcase them during my session. Although I in no way approve of this institution in which the safety of both me and Mallory is threatened, I plan to do everything that I can in order to make it more likely for one of us to survive. 

"I think it shall prove useful," I state simply, not wishing to come off as conceited to her. 

"Since you have undoubtedly kept tabs on all half-bloods, do enlighten me upon this subject: do others exist who are not in this game, save the hunters of course?" I ask, very much curious. I would like to know if half-bloods are still out there in the nation.

I smile at her promise of a show. Hopefully she’ll understand and prove me right: hauntress might be a good value to the game unlike some some people might think. 

I finish my coffee before answer her other question. «There are a bit more. » I admit with a cold smile. «But the most of you are here, after the war it took the Gods some time before breaking their vow. But in the end they always break it when it comes to seduce people and making bastards. »

"Ah yes. Sorry Gamemaker Eywa." I smiled, and looked her in the eyes, then my eyes followed her brown hair as it fell down over her shoulders. I coughed, and then opened my mouth again. "Uhh, if I come out, fancy going for a drink?" I winked, then laughed as I held my hand out. I hadn’t shook it yet, a huge mistake. Shaking hands, a sign of respect.

If his eyes werent obvious his bold question was. I laugh and shake his hand. He was a eye candy and quite nice. But a gamemaker can't bond with a tribute before the game. It would be unwise for me and him. I didn,t want to die and erase every chance he might have to survive. .«If you come as a winner, I would love too.» I said. There was no rule between victor and gamemakers.

"Alright. Let it come to me. It’s part of me." I smiled, and faced the peacekeeper, tensing my fists. I realized they were curled in fists, then relaxed them. Opening my hands. I breathed in slowly, and back out slowly.

"I can do this." The peacekeeper lifted the knife into the air, and then threw it. It barely missed me, but my power didn’t work. I didn’t see the knife coming. My fists clenched again, and I bit down hard on my teeth.

"Fuck." I spat out, and turned to Eywa. "It didn’t work."

«Tu tu tu language Mister!» I tease falsly scowling. I chuckle. «Power means patience and practice. I say do this for a moment and you can be god. But the key is to relax and not try to hard. » I said. Then i look at my watch . «Our hour is nearly done, I should let you train on this since you need it. Do you have any last question before my leave?»

"You’re mad, but sure.. Let’s do this." The peacekeeper picked up a knife, that looked like it wouldn’t cut me if I sat on it. As I saw the knife rise into the air, I tried to look a few seconds into the future. I pushed, and I pushed. But nothing. I kept pushing, but I was still in the present time.

I clenched my hands into fists, and slammed it into the side of my face. “Come on!” I yelled at myself, hitting myself yet again. “Come on Nick, come on!” With one final smack, I saw a few seconds into the future, and I saw exactly where the blade would land. My hand flew up and pinched it out of the air, grabbing it by the handle.

I smile looking at him. I wrote a bit on my paper before walking toward him. I raised my hand for the peacekeeper to wait for his next strike and went toward Nick. «See you are too stressed. » I put my hand on his shoulder to relax them than motion him to put his feet a bit further. «Alright, instead of telling yourself that you must see into the future. Let it comes to you, when you accept your gift, 90% of the work is done.» On that I went next to the peacekeeper. «Continue.»

I can discern her facial expressions, knowing that she is pondering over my comment. But I choose not to inquire, as it is not a topic I wish to waste time in discussing. There are matters that are quite more important at hand right now.

How interesting indeed. I shall have to show a specific set of skills during private training if I do wish to see a weapon I am familiar with. “Can I trust that if I showcase my skills well enough, I will see a weapon that I enjoy at the cornucopia?” I ask Eywa, wanting to know that if I do my job, she will do hers.

«Not for sure. » I admit. «Some of you want to get something as a surprise for others. But if you really impress us during private training, we might concider it. Do not thing that, because you showed us we will put it there. But the more you show us that you can make a good show, the more we might think about it.» I grin. «Which I am sure for a huntress like you will be no problem»

"Yes Ma’am." I said with a chuckle, and took off, running around the training center. A few minutes later, I was back at the seats, and panting. Red faced and heavy breathed. "I’m all pumped out, what now?" I laughed as I bent over to regain my breath.

«Soldier Rosenthal come here.» The man I warn not to point his gun to my tribute walk over, worried. Peacekeeper might be the guardian of peace but their job was dangerous itf they displease the power of the capitol. Everyone knew that. «I want you to go at the knife station. Throw the un-sharp one to Nick. With his ability he wont get caught. » The peacekeepr when white and I looked at Nick wondering if he would be up for the challenge.

"I meant because if there’s a gun to the back of my head, I’d get adrenaline in my veins. And my power only wants to work when I’ve got adrenaline pumping through my system. It’s not like I can turn them on and off whenever I want." Now I think about it, my powers are practically useless. Here I am, a human. Going up against 23 fucking demi-gods.

«oh.» I simply said scribling something in his file. «I didn't knew your power were activated by adrenaline. Some of you are like this. I do not know why and it's  most facinating. » On that I grin. «There was this half blood who could only do his power when he was afraid. The fun I had with that. Anyway, go run some laps to get your heart pumping, it's way better than any guns. »

Her kindness takes me by surprise. I had not expected for her to actually care about the happiness of her tributes quite that much. But as she is attempting to murder a large quantity of the nation’s half-bloods, the very least she can do is set up a projection of a forest upon my walls in my suite. “Thank you,” I state. 

Disappointing, yet unsurprising. I would have questioned her intelligence as a gamemaker had she actually provided me with a hint. But I still would rather know any little bit of information regarding the arena. “I tend not to be one to do such a thing. I would much rather keep my honor and remain true to myself,” I tell Eywa. 

"What is the process that you have for deciding the weapons which are placed within, and in the general vicinity, of the cornucopia?" I question. I do not think this to be a question that she would not want to answer.

I smile wondering what true to yourself really mean. I couldn't see anyone around who was really true. Even myself I was playing a game for people. So whatever she was trying to tell me, I was sure she wasnt really true to herself as much as she'd like to hope. 

«We mostly look at the general theme of the year and the skills of the tribute. It is no fun watching people unable to kill someone because he can figure out how to kill. » I simply say. «we try to put variety mostly for the district who train. So they are unsetlled or something. »

One second, she was being all philosophical, and speaking so much wisdom I felt smarter just by being in the close vicinity. Then the next, she was dropping a pen and telling me to catch.

I lifted my foot up and kicked the pen upwards, then caught it in my hand. “C’mon, gimme something harder. That took 3 seconds to leave your damn hand.” I chuckled, and handed the pen back to her.

"And you," I said, pointing at the peacekeeper, "Put a gun to the back of my head. Get the adrenaline pumping!"

«No.» I said sharply. What was with tributes wanting to die in front of me to prove themselves. Every year I got a few like that. «I would not allow my peacekeeper to use a bullet against you. But if you want you two go sword fight, I shall watch. »  I gave a cold look to my employee. The peacekeeper understood that if he dare even thiking to raise his gun, he was more than dead

I accept the herbal tea, bringing the teacup to my mouth as hot steam swirls up from the surface of the liquid. An intriguing odor wafts into my nostrils, and I inhale deeply, finding myself being reminded of the scents of the forest. 

I am quite glad that there will be no time wasting. She is aware of why I am here: to inquire. I have multiple questions that I shall ask Eywa, but all in due time. Bombarding her with them all at once would not bode well for me. 

"Quite different, yes, but I prefer back home. All is much too luxurious here, I do prefer to be within nature for the most part. Urban settings are not to my liking," I respond. 

"Is it in your nature to spare any hints as to what the arena may be?" I inquire nonchalantly as I sip my tea.

«I will ask you mute to set up the forest environment to your window tonight. I know it's someone in the software within your walls. » I said scribbling a note to remind myself later to do so. Without my pad I swear my day would be a mess. Half things I have to do fo the day was on that. 

I laugh at her question. «I love your boldness. » I admit with a grin. «Usually tribute try to bribe me and fake compliment me before trying to know stuff from me. » I explain. «But I do not tell what my arena is, especially to tributes. What fun would it be if you knew what to expect!»

"So what you’re saying is, instead of looking 3 seconds ahead of time, I can look 5 seconds ahead of time if I try hard enough?! Wow." I said sarcastically, which was a mistake, and I soon realized that.

"Sorry.. It just, annoys me when people can control water or some shit, and I can only see a few seconds in the future, not like I can change it. It’s annoying as hell." I smiled weakly, then looked down at my thumbs, twirling around each other.

I chuckle. I admit I was biter as him when I found out my own power. Persephone had this great thing while mine was mediocre. «Envy might be what is was restrain you.» i can tell every peacekeeper would kill to have what you got. If you can see a bullet come toward you before it happen, it might be life or death. And it occurs that you will be in a life or death situation soon enough.»

I grabbed my pen. «Lets see your reflex.» I drop the pen, wondering if he would catch it as quick as I’d hope.

"Sorry, gamemaker Eywa. I keep forgetting. My bad.." I rubbed the back of my neck nervously and chuckled. "Well, I wouldn’t say all of us are special. My uh.. Power? Is worth shit. I’d rather spit water freely or some bollocks like that, if you ask me!" I chuckled, and looked at the peacekeeper again, I swear he’d gotten closer since I last checked.

I smile at him and put my empty cup on a table. Within second a mute came and grabbed it away. My eyes find Nick's «I once met a man who claim his power were worthless because he could only control air. Ten year later he had found a way to kill his enemies by controlling the air out of their lungs. Never underestimate what you have. Skills are only good for those who know how to use it. »

Eywa smiles at me, and then proceeds to beckon me to take a seat. I find it quite a bit interesting that she assumes I am fearful of her. “I am not afraid,” I state calmly, wanting not for her to think of me as any sort of weakling. It is common for trepidation to be mistaken for fear, but I will allow nobody, no matter status or power, to presume that I am fearful. 

I take a seat, pondering my options for but a moment before making a decision. “Herbal tea would be wondrous,” I decide. I would prefer that she did not think of me as hostile, so I do hope that accepting her offer of a hot beverage will do this. Additionally, I would like for her to open up to me, as I aim to acquire as much information from her as possible.

I snap my finger and a mute came quickly. I ordered herbal tea and a coffee then look at the ex-rebel scurry off to find what I wanted. Put in its right place that one. «My mistake, you seemed unsure if I was about to bite or no. I wanted simply to tell you that I was here for you to talk to me. So have no fear of asking questions. I might not give you the answer you want, but I shall try to enlighten you. » I say as I cross my legs. «How do you find living here now, it is must different that what you are use to.»

I chuckled, then looked her in the eyes with a smile. “I am well, Eywa. I am very well, thank you!” I smiled, then looked at the peacekeeper to her side, watching my every move. Like I would try and attack her. I’m not a fucking tool.

"How are you, Eywa? Are we living up to your many standards I hear you uphold each year?" I asked with a smiled, and stretched my legs out in front of me, leaning forward.

«Careful Nick, it's gamemaker Eywa. I worked hard for that title and people should respect it as much as we do not call the president by its own name. » I remember a rebel who did that once. He didn't had a tongue to talk after that. I heard he is now the mute in one of the tributes floor. I sip my cofffee, my smile never fading. «But to answer your question, I must admit that I am quite please with this year tributes. As you know you are all specials tribute and your renown shows in every skills you show us. The sponsors are quite please.»

I have quickly begun to grow quite bored with the stations offered in the training center. I feel as if there are not many skills which I have a dire need for learning before the time to enter the arena arrives. And I find that conversing with my competitors has grown very tiresome, as I feel like I am always chatting about the same matters with each new opponent. 

I am considering visiting the traps and snares station, when, out of the corner of my eye, I spot a certain someone sitting in my vicinity. I snap my head in the direction of the human, laying eyes upon none other than Gamemaker Eywa herself. 

Who else will it be more beneficial to chat with other than one of the gamemakers? Surely, it is nobody, save a sponsor who is possibly interested in me, as I could use persuasion to my advantage in such a scenario. Although it may be rather irksome to speak with someone on the side of the titans and who has crossed the hunters in such a horrid manner, it would be quite nonsensical to disregard this very chance. 

I approach her in a stately manner, knowing very well that I cannot be much too rude to her, although I may not be able to help my hostility. For gods sake, she has sided with the titans! Nonetheless, I politely introduce myself, “Greeting, Gamemaker Eywa. I am Anatolia Noctabelle of the hunt.”

After my hour with Nick, tributes had started to understood the use of this station at last. I could see some head turning to see if I was free and it please me. Last time we have all seen each other it was to drop a bomb on them and leave without question. So maybe they wished to seek some answer 

I smiled at the girl that seems ready to attack or run off at the first move. That was fear more than respect. Which was great. «Come child, I won't bite you.» I said showing a chair near me. «Would you like some water? Tea? We do have herb infusion that make miracle.»

"Oh, my mistake. Sorry, gamemaker Eywa." I smiled, and sat on the chair next to her. Her comment about looking at me since the beginning. I couldn’t help but find it slightly weird, yet I was proud. "I am glad to hear you’ve kept your eye on me. I hope everything is meeting your standards."

I looked around the training room and nodded, smiling. “Yeah, the little training I have done in here, it’s been good. I’ve enjoyed it! You did well with this training center, if I dare say so myself!”

I look at him and couldn’t help to think how he ressemble like many boy from his district. Full of hope yet with a hint of fear that he might not know he had. The arena will reveal that for us soon enough. «And yet your absence in the afternoon was noted by the sponsor. Are you well Nick?» I cocked my head and put a sly smile on my lips. 

I love meeting tributes. I know not every game maker does but for me it’s one of my favorite moment of the games. And this time it was more interesting than ever. Now I was in presence of half blood.

I walked down from the elevator after explaining the previous day to my mentor, and saw Eywa stood all by herself at the gamemakers station. I quickly walked across to her, and smiled as I drew nearer. She would be the decider of life and death for us, pretty soon. I should probably try and get on her good side.

As I was a few feet away, I raised my hand and gave off a small smile. “Eywa, right? Well, of course it’s you. You’re ridiculously famous, how could I not recognize you! It is an honour!” I mocked a bow, and then smiled her way.

Waiting for the tributes to get ready, I was drinking coffee and reading the last piece of shitty gossip the capitol was saying about my games. Things have been calmer since we scared Arlene enough for her to behave and the training was going smoothly. Tomorow would be our special day, then private training, interview and the arena. How can this goes that fast? Persephone and I worked so hard for a year and it was almost over. I was almost sad to see the begining of the end. Almost

When the peacekeeper next to me tensed I look up to see a young fresh male walking toward me. I put down my files and put my best smile. «It's gamemaker Eywa. » I corrected him with a teasing voice. Only Persephone and the president could call me Eywa. «I am glad to talk to you Nick, I've looked at you since the beginning.» Because let,s face it, he was a eye candy. «How is training for you boy?» I showed him the seat next to mine, ready for this hour with him.
