This is just a concept design but idea is very impressive.

As I got scolded by my parents because I drank too little water:P, this product is really important me. well I've never thought this kind of idea as a PRODUCT DESIGNER. I simply defined that product design includes furniture, lights and non-electrical products so it was quite big shock!!

The thing I like combined to my routine!

- As I used to want to be a car designer, Lamborghini designed phone or car bonnet sofa was impressive. 

- Well, being a classic and well-arranged designer but I want to be a designer make people smile with my work, as I got from the designer 'Karim Rashid' and 'Alessi' products. 

- To Marvel comics fan, those wall light will be very impressive and attractive stuff they want to get and people can smile with those lights! I do want to have thor's hammer as well!!

- Pac-man lights are so cute and the other pac-man light is the Christmas tree. It reminds me one blog post from Korea that father made special CORAL Christmas tree for his daughter who likes fishes than father:)

- I think funny or impressive ideas can be from not making a rule or standard on objects like what the father did to his daughter:))

While I worked in Architecture office in Korea for internship, I researched some 'good design-pictures' for architect department. At that time, the department wanted me to find the images of architect's product design.

There's a Shoes brand called 'United Nude', this brand was very impressive when it launched because the shoes are from 'Architect', as people can see, Those images are high heels but doesn't have common shape of heels. The slogan of heels are 'the high heels which are designed with human body's architectural structure'.

There's a sofa 'Zaha Hadid' designed for Italian Furniture brand 'B&B Italian'. the sofa shows off her own design identity which is very geometric and futuristic. 

there's a kettle 'Michael Graves' designed for Italian Kitchenware brand 'Alessi'. He designed the tab of kettle as a bird because the steam sound from kettle is similar with bird's chirpings. 

These photos are just small part of studying new ideas. THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT of this post is Crossover design in design area. Architects can design products, even this cannot be couldn't imagine it but these design projects are quite impressive for people and other area designers.

I want to be the person can make people get impression with seeing my works. As I want to be the Crossover designer, I consider to learn and experience other things except design such as; illustration, science. When I find these 'Crossover' design projects, it inspire me to get as many experiences as I can. I didn't understand that I have to get many experiences when my parents told me I have to get those but now I understand what it means. This post will remind me to get first decision I got like when I was in internship.

Merry Christmas

- For Christmas, Many brands released chirstmas edition which can be christmas present to people. These christmas special package design and products are quite impressive. 

Nike - KD christmas edition

- use typical Christmas colour red and green with pearly base.

Hexbug

- designed new product which remind Rudolph.

Lancom - Christmas edition

- Collaboration with Swarovski for package of lipstick with hand crafted.

Anna sui - Christmas edition

- Main theme was 'a day as a disney princess' and all package got minnie mouse. even inside of lipstic shape is minnie mouse. Eyeshadows pallete can b ribbon shape clutch.

When I lived in Korea, I didn't care about Korean tradition and thought that is considered quite old-fashioned style for art and design. I felt proud of Korean tradition or Korean stuff after I started to stay out of Korea. well, I don't know the exact reason or starting point of it but I could see the things in different point of view.

As a design student, I had a sense of duty for spreading out how much Korean tradition is attractive to out there.

Apparently, I am looking for the way to show off how can I make harmony modern design style with Korean art.

If I do a sculpture it’s written about as ‘designed by Ron Arad‘ but if my friend Antony Gormley does one, no one ever says he ‘designed’ it. I thought it would get easier to escape these kinds of distinctions, but no. Frank Gehry told me he didn’t get taken seriously as an architect until he stopped designing furniture. I understand it: if you are doing these huge buildings it is difficult to accept that someone who isn’t an exclusive member of your club can do it too. Personally, I have no problem designing stuff for Vitra or Moroso that is made to be sold in shops, but I also like to do big projects or products that cause people in the bolshevik art world to be uncomfortable.
