UP - IN- OUT Reflection:
UP: Are people in your GoCommunity growing closer to Jesus in both knowledge and experience?
IN: Do you see natural friendships forming both in formal gatherings and organic hang-outs?
OUT: Has anyone new showed up lately to your gathering? Is there anyone in your GoCo that isn’t following Jesus but has questions and is open to spiritual things?
Meet our friends at the Landing. This gocommunity is reaching middle school and high school students who are looking for a place to belong and share their struggles. They meet on Friday nights from 6:30-9:00.
We know a good majority of leaders eventually punt, tap out, or drag themselves off the field... but some make it. Some press in further and listen harder and actually get better. Here are 4 ways to keep going as a leader.

In the Great Commission, Jesus commanded his followers to go into the world and make disciples, teaching them to obey all that Jesus had said. But the very first “great commission” was really given much earlier—to parents. In Deuteronomy 6
This is a great new book by Bobby Harrington and his son Chad along with Seeds Family Worship Creator Jason Houser. This is a great tool to utilize when trying to be a family on mission.

Self Assessment of GoCommunities
Does it feel like a Family?
Are people known and getting to know others?
Are new people welcomed and connected into genuine relationships?
Are people meeting and doing life outside of the gatherings?
Is there a clear Mission and Vision?
When was the last time you clearly commented the purpose of your gathering?
If random people from your GoCommunity were asked why you meet, would they share the same vision you have?
What is the evidence that your mission/vision is being realized?
Is Discipleship happening?
Who is in an intentional discipling relationship within your gathering?
Are people growing in their ability to pray, study the Bible, worship, be generous and share their faith? What evidence do you see?
Who are you intentionally pouring into? Do you see growth in them?
Welcome to the GoCommunities Resource Page!
“So many people come to church with a genuine desire to hear what we have to say, yet they are always going back home with the uncomfortable feeling that we are making it too difficult for them to come to Jesus.”
― Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship
Great blog post by Todd Engstrom that explains how Missional Communities are different from Small Groups. Check it out so that you have a good answer when people ask you what the difference is!
GoCo?
WHAT IS A GOCOMMUNITY?
A group between 20 and 50+ people
Centers on Jesus, helping people become and then grow as his disciples
Has a defined mission vision on reaching a particular neighborhood or network of relationships in community and often revolves around shared times of food and fun
Has a healthy balance of Come, Thrive & Go
Does not require that members be professing Christians to belong
Conducts worship, prayer and Scripture reading as core practices
Looks outwards through a mixture of service and witness
Gathers informally throughout the week, not just at formal meetings
Includes a high value on small groups for support, challenge and closeness in members’ life together
