pairing: lee kang-soo x shy fem!reader
synopsis: kang-soo notices your body language on a mission and is insistent on getting you to confess your feelings.
wc: 5.7k
warnings: gun violence, fluff, wound treating, club setting, mentions of drugs, drug business
Prosecutor Goo had failed to disclose just who exactly would be joining you on this mission. The only information he did provide was the type of man you’d be dealing with and the types of drugs you would be detaining. Along with that information was a time and attire as your disclosed partner would be the one to pick you up. These past few days have been nerve-wracking as you pondered just who exactly Goo had decided to accompany you throughout this mission.
The importance of the mission depended on who he sent to pick you up and as you saw the familiar large black vehicle pull in front of the hotel doors, you knew then that you had no idea what you were up against after all. Perhaps all the information was given to the smug, gorgeous man behind the wheel. Goo’s right-hand man, Lee Kang-soo.
The passenger side window slowly rolled down, revealing Kang-soo. He pushed his sunglasses down his nose and sent you a flirty wink, causing your cheeks to flush in the chill air. Though you could easily excuse the tint in your cheeks to be caused by the chill air, you knew it was for a deeper reason. Despite that reasoning, you tried to play it cool, knowing Kang-soo was notorious for his intelligence.
“Kang-soo,” you nodded your head at him in greeting, sending him a soft smile. You crossed your arms, partially to hide the sudden shakiness of your hands, another to shield you from the sudden wind picking up. It didn’t help that you wore a short dress and heels as part of the attire Goo had requested.
“Hiya, sweetheart.”
Kang-soo had gotten out of the driver’s side and sauntered his way over to the passenger side. He gave you a dramatic bow before opening the passenger door, he chewed on a piece of gum waiting for you to make your way inside. You hesitated for a moment, still silently recovering from the nickname he had given you since he met you. He waited with a smug look on his face until you finally found feeling in your legs and hopped inside of the car.
Once he sat back into the driver’s side, he turned the radio down to a low volume. He had pushed his sunglasses into his hair to hold it back, turning his head to look at you.
“Nervous?”
“W-What?”
“About the mission?”
Now there was no excusing the chill air for the tint in your cheeks, hoping that he hadn’t seen the difference in shade, you quickly averted your eyes. You let out a small laugh to deter away from the awkward moment.
“Oh, no. This is nothing new to us, Kang-soo.”
He gave you a small smirk, keeping his eyes on you. You could’ve sworn he squinted them as he looked over your figure, down to your hands that were fidgeting in your lap.
“Another day, another dollar, right?”
“Exactly.”
He then pushed his sunglasses back over his eyes, you inhaled a deep breath as he started to pull out of the hotel entrance. The smell of cigarettes, gum and cologne permeating the air brought you a sense of comfort. Though it was odd, seeing as you hardly ever joined Kang-soo on missions.
“Before you high tail it out of here, you have precious cargo in the car now. Don’t do anything stupid.”
He let out a laugh that was deep in his chest, the sound sent the butterflies fluttering throughout your body, as they always did whenever you were around Kang-soo. He gave you a smirk and chewed on his gum. While it would be obnoxious if anybody else smacked on their gum as he did, it never was like that with him.
You and Kang-soo had only been on a couple of missions together, not including this one. Whenever a female was needed to distract the mission’s target, you were there to assist in any way you could though there was a line that wasn’t to be crossed. You were manipulative in the ways that catered to men that were nonetheless less intelligent which gave you the easiest types of missions to follow through. Even so, Goo was protective of you in a weird way that would dangle you to the sharks but just enough to be pulled back at any given moment.
Tonight was no different, though there was little information given to you, the fact that Kang-soo was here meant that this could be dangerous. You rifled through the bag you brought with you and found the small pistol. Suddenly aware that Kang-soo was in the car with you, you hesitated for a moment before sucking in a sharp breath and lifting your dress.
You lifted it high enough to find the holster strapped tightly to your thigh, out of the corner of your eye, you saw Kang-soo glance your way. Trying your damnedest not to pay too much attention to him, you slid the gun into the holster securely. He cleared his throat once you pulled your dress back over your thigh, adjusting the fabric to conceal the weapon attached to you.
“Goo give you any information about this?”
You shrugged, watching the world outside of the window pass by as Kang-soo zoomed through traffic.
“Just told me to look pretty, that someone would be there to pick me up. Besides, now that I know you’re paired up with me for this, I figured he would’ve given you more information anyway. He trusts you.”
You felt Kang-soo’s eyes on you for a moment before his attention went back to the road. He mumbled something under his breath that you didn’t quite catch. Your eyes found his for a moment before he looked away.
“What was that?”
“Nothing. I just don’t like the way he dangles you in front of these people. It’s dangerous.”
You scoffed out a laugh, though he wasn’t entirely wrong. It was a risk to be dangled in front of these types of men that dealt in drugs, some of them more dangerous than others. Luckily, you hadn’t encountered a man that wasn’t fooled by your efforts of manipulation. Though you were not ignorant to the risk you take the more you accept to be the bait during these missions.
“Yeom Tae-soo. That’s who we’re dealing with.”
You sucked in a sharp breath, fully turning your attention toward him now. Yeom Tae-soo was the last person you expected to come out of Kang-soo’s mouth, Tae-soo was every bit of dangerous a man can get. Though he doesn’t dirty his own hands, he has other people for that, he sends a very clear message to those that try and cross him. And you were about to walk into the lion’s den with no knowledge of just who exactly you were dealing with.
“Nervous now?”
You bit your lip nervously but soon stopped as you realized you were wearing a dark tint of lipstick that would surely smudge. You were in fact now nervous for an entirely different reason, Goo hadn’t mentioned Tae-soo. In fact, you didn’t recall the name he had given you when you accepted this mission. This made your stomach uneasy.
“He didn’t tell you, did he?”
The energy had shifted when you slowly shook your head. Kang-soo’s jaw clenched and there was a moment of silence before he pulled into the parking garage just next to the club where Tae-soo and his men resided in. He didn’t make any moves to leave just yet, he took off his sunglasses, pinning them to the sun visor above his head. Then he leaned over the center console and took hold of one of your fidgeting hands.
“Listen to me, I’m not going to let anything happen to you. I don’t know what Goo’s plan was not telling you who you were up against but believe me when I say I am not leaving here without you. Even if the bastard gets away.”
“We can’t let him get away, Kang-soo.”
“To hell we can’t. If it means you or him, I’m choosing you and we’re getting the hell out of there.”
You were captivated by his meaningful gaze, it was hard not to look away and if you tried, he followed. He gave your hand a reassuring squeeze, letting his touch linger there before pulling away. You sighed at the loss of contact but quickly gathered yourself.
“What’s the plan?”
“I thought you’d never ask, sweetheart.”
The plan was seemingly foolish the more you sat at the bar by yourself. Though you tried to put all your trust into Kang-soo as the time ticked by. You trusted him enough to separate from him; he had attached various hidden cameras and mics on your body before you walked into the club. Earrings that were open communication between the two of you dangled from your ears as you glanced curiously around the club.
There were so many people here, it seemed impossible that you alone would capture the attention of any of Tae-soo’s men. The longer you sat here, the more nervous you got. You were sipping on a drink that you tried to make last a while as there were no means to be shitfaced while on a mission.
“Just a little bit longer, sweetheart. Don’t be nervous.”
The sound of Kang-soo’s voice drifted into your ear at such close proximity you nearly jumped thinking he was standing directly behind you. It was then when you heard a deep chuckle in your ear that you were reminded he could see you from wherever he was posted up.
“Must you be so distracting at a time like this?”
Another chuckle, “Oh, I’m distracting you? I’m simply just talking to you, sweetheart. What’s so distracting about that?”
You huffed in annoyance at his playful tone, as much as you hated to admit it, he was calming your nerves with his words.
“Not helping,” you hissed downward to not catch any attention, the loud music surrounding you helped deter any attention from you.
“I’ll get that answer out of you later. Right now, look alive, you’ve got a shadow.”
True to his word, you looked over your shoulder and saw a couple of men eyes focused in your direction. Suddenly aware of their eyes, your back straightened and you had begun your act; sending them a flirty smile and raising your drink, you knocked the rest of it back without a flinch.
They were intrigued but they weren’t the man that was your target, yet you had a good feeling by the looks of them that he wasn’t far. Your attention went back to the bartender who was hastily getting through their orders, you did so until you felt a heavy presence behind you. The two men had sauntered there way over to you and lingered there for a moment.
They caught the attention of the bartender and had ordered you a drink. One of them had tried to distract you while the other was eerily quiet by your side.
“He’s slipping something in your drink.”
You smirked to yourself as you glanced back down at the drink that was ordered for you. The two men raised their own glasses and clinked them against yours. You took a small sip, careful not to swallow the contents. You waited for them to look away for a moment before you carefully spit back the drink into the glass.
The two men lingered for a while as you feigned the influence of whatever they had slipped into your drink. Once they were satisfied with the way your body swayed on the barstool, they hoisted you up by your arms, dragging you away with them.
“Is the safety on?”
Knowing he was referring to the gun attached to your thigh, you smiled to yourself at Kang-soo’s concerned tone in your ear. You simply shook your head, slowly as not to attract the attention of the two men at your sides.
“Good girl.”
His voice never failed to send butterflies fluttering through your system, your heart felt giddy and thrilled that he was watching. He promised he would prioritize you during this mission and you had nothing left but to trust his word as the two men led you to a private room.
Though it was private, there was full view of the dancefloor below. Inside of the room held a couple of bodyguards, women and men who were visibly under the influence, and low and behold, Yeom Tae-soo. You tried to control your features as you saw the man scattering about various bags of the blue meth that Prosecutor Goo wanted. Along with the man he had failed to mention as the main focus of this mission.
“Sorry it took some time, boss. We found this one sitting at the bar, looking like she needed a little bit of adventure.”
One of the two men had roughly placed you down next to Tae-soo, who barely spared you a glance. You made a show of slumping over as if heavily influenced. Tae-soo then turned his attention toward you, then looked at the two men who brought you here.
“You drugged her?”
“She looked a little feisty, didn’t want to risk it.”
Tae-soo stood and smacked one of the men on the back of the head, cursing at them loudly.
“You idiots! Anybody could’ve seen you do that.”
The two men said nothing, they simply bowed apologetically. Tae-soo ignored their efforts and sent them away, mumbling to himself about how he should’ve killed the two men when he had the chance. The two men scattered away, in a hurry to not be in the path of Tae-soo’s anger any more than they already were.
Tae-soo sat back down next to you, adjusting you so you were sitting upright on the plush couch beneath you. You glanced at your surroundings, observing all the exits and who exactly could be a threat if it came down to any action. The only notable things were the dangerous man sitting next to you and the two large bodyguards standing by the door, however you were pleased to see their attention was fully focused on the door you had entered through, only sparing mere glances your way.
Tae-soo lifted a bag of the blue crystals he was sorting through and held it up to your face, you maintained the glazed look in your eyes as you looked at the bag.
“Looking for an adventure, huh?”
He waved the bag in front of your face for a moment before spilling out the contents on a tray sitting on the table. You sat forward lazily, gazing over the shiny, blue crystals littered on the tray before you.
“What is it?”
Tae-soo glanced back at you, giving you a gnarly smirk before turning back to the meth. He rolled up a hundred-dollar bill as if coaxing you into doing exactly what he wanted you to do.
“Everything you’ve ever dreamed of, darling.”
You winced at his eerie tone but continued to lean forward as if intrigued. He took advantage of your feign interest and started to place his hands on you. At first, it was a light touch to the back, then his other hand started to rub up against your thigh. You visibly didn’t react to his touch, yet on the inside, you were gagging and waiting for this to be over already.
You glanced his way and his eyes had darkened a shade. His eyes were filled with lust, it was hard not to recoil from his gaze but you kept your composure, simply giggling and leaning against him. You took the wrapped bill of money out of his hands and brought it close to you, leaning down as he started to graze his lips over your neck. All the while, your other hand was slowly inching toward the gun strapped to your left thigh.
Tae-soo’s lips nearly met your ears as he whispered something that made your blood run cold.
“Prosecutor Goo always did have great taste in women.”
The next thirty seconds happened so fast, you reacted before anybody else could release a signal or reach for a gun. You started with Tae-soo, unloading your gun, you shot his leg to distract him before turning to the two bodyguards. You always were precise in your aim, nailing each one to the heart. They only had time to shoot one bullet each, their aim wasn’t as precise as yours, only shooting toward the lights that shattered, causing a commotion in the private room from the variety of high people.
Tae-soo was hissing and groaning in pain as he scrambled away from you. He tried to reach for a gun that was resting on the table but you had kicked it out of the way.
“Everyone out, unless you want to end up like those two.”
Even under the influence, the variety of people in the room scrambled out of the room, leaving you and Tae-soo alone. Tae-soo lifted his hands as if surrendering but you kept your gun raised not falling for the whatever scheme he was trying to think of in the moment.
“You’re fast, I’ll give you that.”
Tae-soo glanced at the wound in his thigh, hissing and cursing as he assessed the damage. His skin now glistened with sweat as he sat against the couch. You watched every move of his as he reached in his pocket to grab a cigarette. He lit it and took a long drag out of it.
“Smoke break’s over, get up.”
Tae-soo spared you another glance before taking another drag out of the cigarette, you had an uneasy feeling as he did so. He was stalling but you weren’t quite sure why.
“Darling, you just shot me in the leg. Can I have a moment before you whisk me away?”
“Get up.”
Tae-soo took another long drag out of his cigarette but made no move to get up from his sitting position. He simply looked at you and then that slow, daunting smirk made way onto his face. This solidified that uneasy feeling in your chest. This was a set up.
“He’s stalling. It’s a set up.”
Your words were made to reach Kang-soo but after hearing no response, you panicked. The panic only set in more as the lights to the club shut down. With a whoosh, the power in the whole building had shut down. It was then that Tae-soo had pounced, a swift punch to your jaw had made you stumble to the ground. You tried to fight him but the darkness made your eyes strain to see the oncoming attacks.
He had managed to disarm you and had pistol whipped you across your temple. Unsure if you were losing vision due to the traumatic hit to your head or if the lights were still down, you scrambled away from him. You tried to feel your way through the floor to find some sort of weapon on the ground. With no luck, you felt your hope diminishing with every second that passed, you nearly blacked out with the amount of adrenaline pumping through your veins.
Your ears were ringing; you had hardly registered the noises of fighting around you. Punches were thrown as well as grunts from whoever it was that was now in the room with you. You crawled away from the noise, hissing as you dragged your body through the glass from the lights that shattered through the room. You closed your eyes, waiting for the inevitable until a body had suddenly approached you.
You tried to fight against whoever it was until the calm yet panicked voice of Kang-soo filled your ears.
“Shh, sweetheart, it’s just me. Come on, I have to get you out of here.”
His shoulder had met your middle as he lifted you over his shoulder, you lay limply as the energy you had moments ago was now spent. He was quick and took different shortcuts to get out of the club, though it was still dark and there were distant sounds of panicked voices fluttering through the crowd.
You felt your body falling still in defeat as he ran through the exits to the parking garage, you couldn’t quite remember getting from the exit to the parking garage but one moment you were in that room with Tae-soo, the next you were in the passenger seat of Kang-soo’s car and he was frantic to get you both out of the area.
You glanced over at him and noticed his eyebrow was split, bleeding profusely down his face. You reached over to move his hair that was now out of place from the fight.
“You’re hurt.”
“I’m fine. My only concern is getting you far away from here as possible.”
You didn’t have the energy to argue, instead you focused on the pounding in your head. Wincing as you touched the sensitive spot on your temple where the gun had met your head, you pulled your hand back and saw blood. You felt intense pressure and heat on the wound but tried not to let it upset your stomach more than it already was.
It was soon that you drifted off to sleep wondering just how wrong things had gone and why it happened so quickly.
You startled awake at the sounds of hushed cursing and glass shattering near you. Instinctively, you reached underneath the cushion your head was resting on, reaching for a gun thinking you were in the comfort of your own space. However, when your hand met nothing but the soft mattress underneath you, you swung your fists back to prepare for another fight out of reflex.
You stopped short once you saw Kang-soo jerk his head back in order to dodge your fists, he held his hands up in surrender and shushed you. Your eyes slowly adjusted to the scene in front of you; Kang-soo was kneeling down beside the bed you were laying in, poorly attempting to clean up the glass of water he had just spilled on the ground, his eyebrow was still glistening with blood as if he hadn’t made any attempt to clean himself up.
“Jesus, you scared me.”
Kang-soo gave you a playful smirk, looking at your hands that were still bunched up in fists. He raised his eyebrows, causing him to wince a bit but he quickly covered the look of pain so you wouldn’t notice.
“You always wake up like that?”
You shrugged, finally lowering your hands to your sides. His own hands slowly lowered as if waiting for your next move.
“Comes with the job.”
He nodded, giving you a soft smile before continuing to pick up the large pieces of glass on the floor. You noticed then that the room was dark except for the moonlight peering through the curtains, shining just enough light to illuminate Kang-soo’s frame.
“Why are you trying to navigate in the dark?”
“I wasn’t trying to wake you. You need rest, now lay back down before your head starts hurting you again.”
He tried to give your shoulder a light push but you grabbed his hand, stopping him. He took this wrong way and immediately pulled his hand back. You slightly frowned as he did so yet hoped he couldn’t see in the dark.
“You’re still hurt.”
Kang-soo shrugged, disposing the remnants of the glass into a nearby trashcan before he turned on the lamp on the side table next to the bed. You squinted your eyes from the sudden sharp light.
“I’m alright. I had to make sure you were fine first.”
“Where are we?”
You glanced around what looked to be a hotel room, it was a bit on the pricier side from the looks of it but you knew Kang-soo probably just picked the closest one that was a safe distance away from the club. Suddenly aware of the aching in your body, you assessed the damage to your body. Your temple was bandaged up, the pain from it numb, possibly from a cream that Kang-soo had covered it with.
You winced as you moved your legs from under the covers, your knees were bandaged but they still stung with something awful. Kang-soo also winced beside you but carefully helped you move your legs to the edge of the bed.
“Well, I guess since you’re awake now I can take a good look at those knees. You crawled through glass, I tried to get as much as I could pulled out but you were in pain so I let you sleep it off.”
He quickly ran to the bathroom that resided in the bedroom, you waited for him to return with a rather large first aid kit, along with a pair of tweezers that made you feel nauseous.
He knelt before you, gently placing his hand to the back of your left calf. Momentarily, you forgot about the pain as he touched you with his rough hands. Your leg jerked back when he had placed your foot on his knee but he looked at you with a calm expression, asking for permission to help you.
You looked away, partially to hide the flush in your cheeks, another part to not look as he slowly took the bandages off. He hissed which caused you to roll your eyes.
“Can you not make noises like that? It’s making it much worse.”
“Sorry, this is not going to be comfortable. I need you to trust me, okay?”
You scoffed out a laugh at his request, as if he wasn’t the one who saved your ass back there at the club. He’s still asking for your trust. It was all that you could give after tonight’s events.
Your laugh had made him pause, his hand still resting on the back of your calf.
“You’re still asking me to trust you after all that you did tonight?”
Kang-soo thought to himself for a moment and his eyes darkened with anger and questions, he quickly shook off whatever had dampened his mood, focusing on your leg. He was silent for a few minutes as he carefully removed any stray pieces of glass from your knee, you bit your knuckle to hide the winces after each pull but a rush of relief filled you when he had finished one knee, wrapping it back up.
“This is my fault.”
Your head snapped in his direction, though he merely mumbled it, you heard it and it was far from the truth and you now knew what that troubled look he had on his face meant. He maintained his focus on your other knee and pain be damned, you were now focused on him and getting him to realize that what happened tonight was in fact not his fault.
“Exactly what part of what happened is your fault?”
You couldn’t help the bite in your tone as he refused to look at you for once since you have known him. When he didn’t answer, the need to pry the answer out of him surpassed the pain you were feeling as he removed glass from your knee.
“Kang-soo.”
He stopped then, finally meeting your eyes, his own heavy with guilt. This was eating him alive, seeing you in pain like this.
“I should’ve thought a man like Tae-soo wouldn’t have been that easy to approach. It was too easy. I should’ve been inside of that building with you. Had I been there, I would’ve felt something was wrong like I did the moment I ran in there to save you after losing communication.”
You shook your head at him, none of what he was saying could’ve prevented tonight’s events from happening. If Kang-soo were in that building, he would’ve been caught as well. His face is known and there was a possibility he didn’t know that Tae-soo knew Prosecutor Goo, though you hadn’t quite figured that out yet, his slimy words in your ear would never leave your brain.
“None of this is your fault. It was a set up from the get-go. Tae-soo implied that he knew Prosecutor Goo.”
Your words captured his attention, that look of anger and shock resided in him. He shook his head as if not believing what he was hearing.
“What are you saying?”
“I’m not sure when the communication got cut but he whispered something in my ear. He said that Goo always had good taste in women. That was right before I shot him.”
Kang-soo shifted uncomfortably but kept your leg on top of his knee. His eyebrows furrowed in concentration as he listened to your words.
“Think about it, Kang-soo. He didn’t tell me who we were up against, I can’t even recall the name he gave me but it sure as hell was not Yeom Tae-soo. I wouldn’t have touched that mission if it meant the end of my career. If it is anybody’s fault, it is mine for thinking I could handle someone like that man.”
Kang-soo let out a soft laugh, “I think you handled him pretty good, he’ll have a scar for life with your name on it.”
Your cheeks flushed again but you quickly diverted the attention from you, taking back your leg as he finished wrapping it up. He made to go back to the bathroom to put away the first aid kit but you stopped him.
“Not so fast.”
You tapped on your eyebrow to remind him that he too needed some tending to. He sighed, fully sitting down with his legs crossed in front of you. He watched you as you walked to the bathroom to wet a hand towel before walking back to the bed. He winced as you dabbed around the area of the deep cut to his eyebrow. You tried not to focus on his lingering gaze on you, though it was hard not to when his face was mere inches from yours. He gave you a soft smile and squinted his eyes at you in thought.
“What?”
“You’ve got that flush in your cheeks again.”
You quickly looked away, reaching for the numbing cream in the kit, busying your now shaky hands.
“I do not.”
“You’re not fooling anyone, sweetheart. Did you think I forgot about my question earlier?”
“Mmm, maybe Tae-soo should’ve hit you harder.”
That brought a laugh out of him and you relished in the deep sound. Even so, he was far from over the question he had asked you earlier.
“So, what’s so distracting about me?”
You hummed in response, feigning as if you didn’t hear him as you continued to treat his wound. You placed a small piece of gauze to his eyebrow before taping it on the sides, careful not place it on any stray hairs.
When you were finished, he sat back on the palm of his hands and watched you with that smug look on his face that you grew to admire.
“I’ve got all night.”
You bit your lip out of nerves before your eyes fell down to your hands that were fidgeting in your lap. You knew he had all night and you knew there would be no other circumstance where he wouldn’t have the same question, after tonight, you decided to hell with it.
Sucking in a sharp breath, you thought about your answer.
“Everything about you is distracting, Lee Kang-soo.”
“Oh yeah? How so?”
“I can’t explain it fully, but I admire your strength. I noticed it from the first moment I met you, I thought to myself ‘this guy is insanely full of himself’ but I like it.”
Kang-soo quirked an eyebrow at you, waiting for you to continue.
“I like you, Kang-soo. I like the way you present yourself, like you have no fear. I can’t ever think of a proper sentence to speak when I am around you. I feel like you have it all figured out.”
He nodded slowly, maintaining eye contact with you. You squinted your eyes at him, then straightened your back.
“You knew all of this, didn’t you?”
He shrugged sheepishly, before giving you a wide smile, the most beautiful smile you’d ever seen.
“I just wanted to hear you say it.”
You scoffed at him, throwing the hand towel you used to clean his wound at him, he caught it with ease.
“That’s so embarrassing.”
“It’s not, I like you shy.”
You rolled your eyes, his smile grew bigger as he noticed the tint in your cheeks darken as they always did with him. He leaned forward until his breath brushed past your lips, you held your breath as he did so.
“I wonder what shade of pink you’ll turn if I kissed you right now.”
Your jaw clenched, those words being the last thing you thought he would say in that moment. You felt your neck and chest getting hot as he leaned closer. You had to tell yourself to take a deep breath just before he pressed his lips against yours or you’d explode. The kiss was slow but lingering and it last for a few moments that felt too short before he pulled away, satisfied with the glow of your skin.
“The prettiest shade.”
It took you a moment to regain any logical thought before you cleared your throat, pushing him away from you, you stood up to breath some sort of fresh air.
“Anyway, what are we going to do about Goo?”
Kang-soo stood up to his full height, he watched as you paced in front of him, trying to cool down the heat in your face. He then sauntered over to a large bag that was sitting on a chair in the corner of the bedroom. He pulled out a small device that resembled a flash drive, he waved it in the air, along with the earrings he gave you with the mic inside of it.
“I may have lost open communication with you at the moment but these bad boys recorded every single second of tonight. We’ve got Goo right where we want him. You in, sweetheart?”
Your mouth fell agape for a moment, processing just what he was saying. This man continued to impress you and his intelligence made him a thousand times hotter.
I think Baek-gi will be very much like Sang-Woo in looks and in genius/intellect but a lot more kind hearted towards his friends instead of backstabbing them like Sang-Woo did.
Also, Geu-rae is basically like Gi-hun. Like- he's basically Gi-hun idek what else to say about it (except he would board that plane I think).
Also, Seok-Yeol would smell any bs from a mile away and will probably figure out Sang-Woo way earlier (that he's not to be trusted).
Young-Yi might be able to befriend Sae-byeok, I think, if they all made a team together (Misaeng squad + Gi-hun team).
Just my thoughts and opinion tho 👁️🙏🏻👁️
omg this is such an interesting take but i see it! i love cross universe thoughts like this cause i get so inspired to interlink them! 🤯
I MISS Y'ALL TOO 😭 i honestly just got into major writer's block but i am sitting on so many requests right now that need published so i am slowly working my way through them!

he is very over protective of her and when she gets to an age where boys are a thing, it's game over.
you'd have to reassure him not to be so overbearing during these times and it takes all of his strength not to do so.
he's the one fully sobbing on your daughter's wedding day.
lee kang-soo
this one would be an accidental pregnancy but kang-soo is here to stay.
fully confident he's got the whole 'dad' thing figured out until the day comes when he realizes he's in fact NOT prepared.
even so he's the most supportive partner.
kang-soo is also a girl dad!
i think he'd raise a strong daughter.
teach her how to defend herself and strengthen her intelligence to the world.
often the one paying for her extracurricular activities.
spoils her rotten but makes sure she is humble.
it is kang-soo's number one priority to keep both you and your daughter under supervision. he's always got ears of goo's whereabouts to ensure your safety.
he would inevitably retire from snitching once he heard about your pregnancy to protect the both of you.
he's also very protective of her and often gives the mean dad stare to any boy that comes around.
he's a tough negotiator when it comes to liking whoever your daughter brings around just because he has trust issues.
kang-soo wants a bunch of kids. if he has boys, he raises them to be protective of the girls in the family.
noh woo-sung
the topic of children with woo-sung would be a touchy one at first but eventually he would come around to the idea.
he would ensure to be financially stable beforehand to not bring any more stress to your body throughout pregnancy.
he'd work extremely hard to make this happen.
woo-sung would be a boy dad!
he'd teach his son to be smart with money without being overbearing about it.

he can afford to have one and he thinks the more, the better.

though he will be honest with them and emphasize that it is hard to reach certain goals but never deter them from wanting it.
you and beom-woo are known amongst your kids' friend group to have the best cooking.
their friends are often at your house to eat a good meal and he welcomes them with open arms.
also a supporter when it comes to schooling and extracurriculars, he always fronts the money even if your kids decide to do something different.
though he's often busy, he always makes time for his kids.
they would also be the reason he quits smoking.
he is always taking your kids out on an adventure to explore new foods and visit small restaurants.
his children would not have a close relationship with his mother though he attempts to keep some sort of contact with his brother.
your kids would be the type to give each other side eyes when sitting at an awkward dinner with his mother. beom-woo would not help with this, if anything, it amuses him.
even if the kids are well taken care of he always makes sure they see the beauty in the world.
jang baek-gi
baek-gi would be a strict father as it would be hard for him to soften his demeanor.
it is often a reflection of how he was raised so you never point the blame on him but would encourage him to approach things differently.
he'd be a good balance between a girl dad and a boy dad.
if he had both he would be more softer toward your daughter than his son.
though he is strict, he never diminishes their empathy and encourages them to be in touch with their feelings.
he'll explain to them that keeping their feelings bottled up inside would leave them to feel unhappy.
he would help them with any projects they approached him with as he's very intelligent and interested in what education has to offer.
baek-gi is busy with work majority of the time so he comes home with a little less energy but he's always up for conversation with his kids.
would teach his son to tie his ties.
encourages his kids to work hard without harming their passion.

is the first one to stop the fighting between the boys.
jin-seok is such a sweetheart, so it's hard for him to be stern with the boys.
would help them through their studies, he's very smart and encourages them to prioritize schooling when they're young.
he would not be the one to teach them to drive as he has anxiety with car rides but he'd sit by the sidelines and record the special moment.
he takes pictures of everything to keep the memories alive.
noh jung-yeol
jung-yeol would only want a couple of kids.
luckily he'll get a good balance of a girl and a boy.
the most humble dad you'd ever know as he has a good relationship with his own parents.
his parents are often fighting to see the kids.
teaches your son to be the best gentleman and to love loudly.
he's got a soft spot for your daughter even though she thinks he's a goofball when it comes to love.
she'll often see the way he interacts with you and expects to be treated the same later on in life.
his son also sees the way he treats you and will guarantee copy paste the smooth moves his dad makes.
takes the kids out on adventures any chance he can.
he'll bring the kids to their grandparents to spend some alone time with you.
even after having kids, his love for you never fails to bring a smile to your face.
the arrangement to marry baek-gi is heavily fabricated by your parents.
they wanted you to marry someone who was intelligent and hardworking that could take care of you in the long run.
having mutual connections led to his family volunteering him to be your arranged husband.
growing up, you'd always been reluctant to this idea but you had no say in the matter.
so when it came time to meet baek-gi, you realized you weren't the only one who struggled with this.
baek-gi is standoffish and seemingly annoyed to be around you at first.
it would take a long while for things to settle for him but you tried your best to make the most out of an uneasy situation.
though he was very reserved and emotionally distant, he always thought you were cute in trying to make the arrangement seem not as bad.
he always felt that you were a listener and you'd often trick him into talking about himself.
forced proximity helps in the long run and he will eventually come around to the idea as he realizes he could've ended up with someone worse.
when the wedding day had finally come, you made a joke about the entire thing which comforted baek-gi and he found your humor to be very reassuring. he'd visibly relax when he'd see you make silly faces across the room from him as you mingled with your families.
with baek-gi, it's a slow burn romance with some ignited heat of rebellion mixed into it. the forced proximity helped the pull of each other's energy toward each other.

a part of the rebellious acts you both took part in was having sex before actually tying the knot.
it was a mutual decision and the thought of pissing both of your parents off set the flames alight.
baek-gi was just as nervous as you were, you both seemingly froze after fully undressing each other.
as baek-gi's eyes roamed over your naked body, he realized then that he might've fell deeper than he had meant to and he was frozen in a dilemma within himself.
'baek-gi, we don't have to do this.' 'we can just go to sleep and forget this happened.' 'please say something.'
the constant reassurance from you from day one made baek-gi realize he wouldn't want anybody else to be in your position.
so he took the confidence that he always bore in a professional situation and utilized it in the most raw, lust filled way.
he would take his time with you, leaving lingering kisses over your body listening to the soft sounds you'd make.
when your bodies finally met, he was sure he could do this.
he was sure he could marry you and be contempt with it despite the arrangement.
if his parent's motivation was to pair baek-gi up with somebody to further his misery in life, it hadn't worked and he relished in that.
yet another accomplishment that satisfied his need to please himself.
his softness would soon turn rough with pent up frustration and need for you.
afterward, he would take care of you and whisper sweet nothings in your ear.
after the first time with each other, you both made the promise that this arrangement would no longer be for your parents but for yourselves.
