If only we were to allocate as much resources in technological and medical advances as we do into military & political efforts, vanity & pomposity, religion & superstition, then perhaps we would have long since removed such ailments from our existence...just as we have used technology to remove many other catastrophes from existence. It seems it is extremely difficult to cultivate a collective interest in human advancement unless it involves some financial gain. This is truly disheartening.
