If you love deeply, youâre going to get hurt badly. But itâs still worth it.

Appreciation post for this superwoman, who after 22 years, still sleeps later and wakes up earlier than me just to ensure that I would be rested after work, be able to sleep at least 6 hours, wear ironed clothes, and have a delicious breakfast at home and packed lunch + snacks at work: ě ë§ ę°ěŹíŠëë¤ ěë§. ěŹëí´ě~ (Thank you very much, mommy. I think sometimes we need to be broken to realize how great God is in the middle of everything no matter the circumstances.
How else would we experience His powerful love, grace and mercy?
Only He knows.
Life will eventually turn every person upside down, inside out. No one is immune. Not the mom in the suburbs who finds out her teen daughter is pregnant. Not the husband who is entangled in an affair with a woman who is not his wife. Not the kid whose parents are strung out on drugs. Not the girl entrenched in human trafficking. Not the boy with HIV or his brother without any prospect of enough to eat. Not the woman who finds out her whole sense of identity is based on a family connection that turns out to be a lie. Â Not you. Â Not me. Â But just as life will upend you, so will love. Â Godâs love, which knows you and claimed you before you were even born, can take you beyond yourself, as it did Jesus, who left heaven to go to the cross and pass through the grave in order to bring us back home.
Christine Caine (via priscillawrites)
Do you stand with God or with the world?
God will only allow those that love and embrace Him to enter His Kingdom and you canât really say you love God unless you are willing to obey His Word, which is the Bible. If you donât want to love and obey Him during your short stay on Earth, how much less would you be willing to spend eternity worshipping the Lord?
Lukewarm Christianity offends no one because of their weak message of obedience to God, therefore their message is always well received by atheists and other lost souls in this world. How can you embrace and encourage other peopleâs sins when God has told you over and over again what is and isnât okay for us do?
You think Jesus will accept you into His Kingdom you if you arenât willing to accept Him into your life? If so, think again:
Revelation 3:16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.
Matthew 7:21-23 Not everyone who calls out to me, âLord! Lord!â will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, âLord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.â But I will reply, 'I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break Godâs laws.â
Lukewarm Christians always sugarcoat the message from the Bible and expect to never hurt or offend anyone, after all the truth hurts and these lukewarm Christians rather have âfriendsâ and be âcoolâ rather than be saved and help save people. Iâve tried the whole lukewarm approach for many years in my life, because I didnât want to upset people and even thinking about the time I was a lukewarm Christian makes me feel ashamed of myself. People need to hear the truth, whether it hurts them or not. It might be rough to hear the truth at first but maybe thatâs the spark someone needs in order to realize that theyâve been living their lives completely wrong. Itâs always best to hit them with the truth and hope itâs the spark they need to start living a Godly life than it is to caress them with a lie and let them go their merry way into Hell.
In todayâs society it would seem âbetterâ to be a lukewarm Christian and be more accepted by everyone and become successful despite of being a âChristianâ. People have no problem saying âI love Jesusâ but hardly anyone is willing to follow Him and obey Him. One of Satanâs great lies to us is that it is a futile thing to serve God and obey His Word. It often seems that those who are against God prosper more than those who are for Him. Yet, we need to see and understand - from an eternal perspective - that it is not a futile thing to love and obey God. Obedience to Godâs Word will grant us eternal salvation and admittance to Heaven.
Standing up for whatâs just and right doesnât mean you will be hateful towards anyone, just the opposite. A true Christian knows because God loves anyone despite our affection towards sinning, we know that if anyone is willing to accept Jesus into their lives and obey God they can be saved. God loves everyone, no matter their sins, nor how often they have sinned, and He is hoping they turn away from sin and worship Him. If God loves someone no matter what wrong they have committed, no one has the right to condemn and be hateful towards anyone. But that also doesnât mean you get the condone and encourage sinful behavior because if those people die as unrepentant sinners they will go to Hell. Our love for God command us to try to save as many people as we can. Why would we want to see a brother or sister in Hell when we know Godâs love for them will allow them to spend eternity in Heaven IF they are willing to acknowledge Jesus as their savior and repent from their wicked ways?
The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. Stop being on the fence and stand with God, all the way. You will never be able to please both God as well as mankind. God is sinless while mankind is sinful. God wants total dedication and anything less than that is just insulting.
Being young is no excuse to act rash and without proper manners either. As 1 Timothy 4:12 tells us âLet no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.â As Christians, young and old, we are always to live our lives in a way to show non-believers and lukewarm Christians what it truly means to have been saved.
Remember that what you âfeelâ is right and what society tells you is âpolitically correctâ are completely and utterly irrelevant because we are sinful creatures and thatâs why God has given us the Bible which shows us His sinless rules and regulations. Remember that Godâs ways are perfect and that God is vastly superior than human beings as we are told in Isaiah:
Isaiah 55:8-9 âMy thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,â says the Lord. âAnd my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
Accept His Word as the way you should live your life. Donât trust your heart (Jeremiah 17:9), donât even trust on your intellect (Proverbs 3:5), just trust God (Psalm 31:14). Stop trying to rationalize how you can constantly sin and still be a Christian, because to willfully sin against the Lord will never be a Christian thing to do. Trust and obey the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. Jesus Christ died for you, therefore accept His sacrifice and acknowledge the Lord as your savior and embrace His Word.
Be saved while thereâs still time for no one knows when weâll die and if you die in disbelief and/or in disobedience of His Word, you wonât like where youâll end up because there are no second places prizes for this race. It would be a shame to almost go to Heaven when you die, after having lived an almost Christian life.
Either Godâs Word will draw you away from sin, or sin will draw you away from Godâs Word.
I donât want to hear my mind God, I want to hear Your voice!

Godâs compassion for the suicidal
In 1 Kings 19:4-14 Elijah feels suicidal, and tells God to take his life.Â
God doesnât get angry at Elijah.
He doesnât tell him that heâs being silly, or that suicide wonât solve anything. He doesnât freak out, nor does he ignore Elijahâs cry. God validates Elijahâs pain. Through an angel, God provides Elijah with food and water because Elijah is probably exhausted (he had fallen asleep under a tree after telling God that he wanted to die, and this was probably the safest thing at that point for Elijah). Getting to the point where you donât want to live any more is an exhausting place to be. You cannot think of anything else other than wanting to end the pain.
Once heâd finished eating, Elijah lies down again. But God wants to continue validating Elijah, and continues to have compassion over him. He wants to be with Elijah during his crisis. He wants to keep Elijah safe. The angel comes back again (1 Kings 19:7) and this time adds (and validates) that the journey is too much for Elijah (1 Kings 19:8) and that he needed more food. Elijah was then able to move on and travel for forty days and nights to reach Horeb.
I really love 1 Kings 19:4-14. It tells us a lot about God. He cares about people who are suicidal â he is loving, gentle, patient, compassionate, and he knows what we need. He provides Elijah with physical, spiritual and emotional healing.Â
The church could probably learn a lot from the way God deals with Elijah. Suicidal thoughts are something which are incredibly common but the church doesnât always deal with them in the best way. Often, suicidal thoughts are invalidated and ignored rather than validated and accepted.Â
The angel is gentle with Elijah. He doesnât tell him to pray more, nor does he tell Elijah that suicideâs a sin or that heâs demon possessed. He doesnât even tell Elijah to stop feeling suicidal â he simply tells Elijah to eat.
When you feel invalidated, remember that God validates you fully. He accepts and acknowledges how you feel, and he says itâs okay.
If you feel suicidal, I encourage you to reach out for emergency help.
My ask is also always open for people who need help.
This is so important.
Faith tells me that no matter what lies ahead God is already there.
The Lord will bring healing and hope out of our brokenness if we allow Him to. He specializes in things like that. He loves us so much.
notes on breakups: realize youâre grieving, crying is cleansing, closure doesnât always happen, thereâs no room for pride, you canât fill the void with sex, stop checking their social media, go to bed early, focus on school, or work, or the gym, donât lose yourself, embrace change, youâve been here before, youâll get through this again
