New hair! I lightened the red since everyone was bitching about my bright red haired being too distracting on stage, but now it looks sort of pink because it's so much lighter. So, I tried. I'm glad my bang finally grew out. They were driving me crazy!

Pippa took these photos of us today and I'm in love with them. We were pretending like we were doing a fashion shoot that was safari themed.

Everything is changing and I'm having trouble keeping up, honestly. I had to leave my apartment for the time being due to some sort of structural issue with the building. I have no idea where I'm going to find an apartment for that price if I'm not able to go back. Luckily my sister will be here soon and I know she'll know what to do. Xoxo Greer

My stepsister is coming to New York! She’s starting university here in the fall and is going to be living with me. So she’s moving early to get used to city life.

She’s lovely and wonderful and is studying to become a filmmaker and you all are going to adore her.

About last night.

Or, just yesterday in general. The company was off because there was some sort of issue with the air conditioning system in the studios and they didn’t feel like torturing us. So, I made a list of things that I wanted to get accomplished.

1. Get my hair cut. It had gotten soooo long and ridiculous and I was just over it. So I got a few inches cut off and trimmed my bangs. My friends said I was crazy for cutting my bangs shorter but I like that they’re sort of edgy now. It feels like me.

2. Go to the pound. I’ve been trying to find a dog to rescue for weeks now. And I’ve finally done it. I am now the proud owner of a Husky named Lupin.

3. Do something spontaneous. Obviously I didn’t tell myself what, but some people ended up going to a dive bar in soho and then to a club and we went out dancing and I had a blasssttt. I’d never been out to a club in the city before so it was definitely eye opening but I had so much fun getting dressed up and going. Pierre took some photos of me in front of the most awesome fuzzy wall. It was a good time. I think I look ‘cool’ for once.

So that’s where I’m at. Tomorrow I get to sleep in and then I have a performance.

I had a day off! For the first time in what feels like forever. My body was so tired, it was so nice to have a lazy day and to not think about ballet. I read a lot of magazines, watched some movies on Netflix, had a bottle of wine, and caught up with some friends back home on the phone. I needed this.

Back to ABC tomorrow. I have a meeting with Jeffrey, which is a little bit scary because I’m not sure what I’ve done wrong, but other than that it should be a pretty basic day. Company class in the morning, a company meeting (they’re announcing the spring/summer season), and then right to work.

You know when you take a really great selfie and so you post it everywhere that you can, just to make sure everyone see’s how great it is? That’s how I feel about these photos! I set up a little studio in my apartment and took these portraits with the self timer on my camera. I think they turned out pretty nicely if I do say so myself.

In other news, I’ve been feeling really homesick the past couple of days. I miss my dad something awful. He sent me a painting for my new apartment of the water back home and I burst into tears. There is something so wonderful about Europe. There’s so much beauty. And it feels like time moves slower there. Here in the US everything is so quick quick quick all the time. Adagio in company class and then when I’m home in my bed at the end of a long day are the only times when I feel like my mind gets to slow down here. It’s exhausting.

I’m still on the hunt for a pet to make this apartment feel a little less lonely. Hopefully I’ll find the perfect friend soon.

This week I had the opportunity to do something really amazing! I was chosen by the companies artistic director to be the model for the company's promotional images for the new season! Even though I'm only in the corps! Something about wanting to show off the "next generation" or something. I'm so happy with how they turned out and I can't wait to see the finished product! 💗 -Greer

I'm not having the best hair day you guys. I don't even know what to do with it anymore. And the red is just starting to feel like too much (not my natural colour) - I loved it out first but now I feel like I'm drawing attention to myself. Especially at work. I feel like they're gonna ask me to tone it down before the season begins. In other news, still no pet! I've been having such a hard time finding one, it's making me really sad. I also am starting to question if my apartment is really big enough for one. I may be better off with a fish. Well anyway, I'm off to company class. Will check in later. -Greer

Most of the time I just wish I was living inside of a Sofia Coppola or Wes Anderson film. So when I got my ABC (American Ballet Company) contract and moved out of the dorms and into my own flat, I tried to emulate those aesthetics as much as possible. My bedroom is very “Marie Antoinette” and the rest of the apartment is very “Life Aquatic”. May be too themed for some people’s tastes but I love it.

I was on the phone with my mum and she asked me if I’m planning on having a housewarming, but honestly, this place is really only big enough for two or three people to socialize somewhat comfortably. Plus Caroline didn’t get her company contract and isn’t speaking to me and Lola just moved to Chicago, so I’m kind of here all alone anyway. Who would I even invite?

I need to get a pet, I think. I know dogs have more of a use safety wise but I really want a cat! Or a hedgehog. But really I want a cat. Mum’s allergic so I was never allowed to have one back home. So yeah, I think that may be my next big mission. Find a cat who needs a home!
