Today when Scarlet burst into your apartment, bouncing excitedly on her heels, she held something hidden behind her back in a large, partially see through bag. She grins, insisting that you have to tell her she's your most favoritest person ever before she gives it to you.
Cyan looked up from his spot on the floor as Scarlet bounded into the apartment. He was sitting on his typical spot in the living room area, though there was a notable lack of books around him. For once, reading hadnât been his main objective when in his home. He had to make something and, when the small girl came in, he was only resting and thinking.
âLittle one, you are my âmost favoritest personâ ever,â He echoed the phrase calmly, wondering what she could have brought with her this time.
Scarlet leaned forward over the bag, empty except for Cyanâs presents. She had already delivered everything to Marla and had been looking forward to giving him his all day. Beaming at him, she offered the small electronic device before pulling her own phone out of her pocket. She had already found a case for hers, almost overly delighted by the small plush thing now on the phone. At his question, she felt a moment of excitement! He was always teaching her things and now she got to teach him something? Cool!
âItâs really easy! First, you gotsta turn it on, like this~â She pulled the case so her phone would look like his, just so itâd be easier to find the buttons she was showing him. Humming, she turned her own device on and waited a moment, watching Cyan to see if he as doing it. âOkay! And then, to talk to me or Nani you gotta⊠well, you can call or message us!â She re-positioned herself, moving to sit right next to him instead and leaning close so he could see her screen.
Cyan took the offered device without comment, glancing at scarlet and the decorated phone she took out a moment later. It would be safe to assume it was the same sort of âtalkieâ she had given him, would it not? It looked... vaguely similar, despite the added bulk and color on it. At least, the added plush charm made it seem as if she had personalized the device.
Of course, these thoughts were proved true when Scarlet removed the added accessories, revealing an identical appearance to the cellphone in his hands. He watched intently how she turned on her device before looking down at his own and mimicking her actions. Compared to how it looked in the little girlâs hands, the phone seemed small in his hands. Small and arguably fragile.... Heâd have to keep his grip in mind when using the gift.Â
âCall or message?â he echoed, refocusing on her and the phone in her hands. âHow might those two options differ?â Message sounded like the sort of thing that involved writing, it was the option more easily linked to things he had known in the past. Mortals were often sending each other messages, often times by employing other mortals or trained creatures, he believed. Calling though...
