mid month journal
Hello, I´m back for a little bit <3
I have been super busy, so I´ll update y Dream Girl Journey when I have time. Just for a quick updates:
-I started a psychiatric treatment for anxiety, it has been hard. It started taking away my stress and obsessive behaviours but it also made me a little blue. I´m very content with it right now, though.
-I started my last semester (and realized I may need to drop one or two classes so it won´t be my last) *deeeeeeeep sigh* It´s cool tbh. I rather keep my high GPA and do another semester that ruin it by feeling pressured. To each, their own time.
-Asked for a time off for my social service. This is a heavy one. I asked for time off as I realized I truly don´t have time for everything. I need to get organized to keep with the schedule or I´ll loose my spot and keep on postponing finishing my degree.
-I got a promotion <3 I´m still working the half time but it turns out, I´m very productive. They gave me a bonus(?) that literally doubled my initial monthly salary when I got two teams in the company review my work to my boss. I still don´t know how much my salary will increase(cause it may double for real or it was just a bonus) but still, I´m very proud about it.
-I moved in with some friends. One of my closest friends got an apartment and invited me and another close friend to move in. It´s been very hard on our relationship as I´m very very organized and a lil clean freak and they´re just... not. Still, I feel very acomplished whenever I get something decorated or practically organized and everbody ends up a little happier. So I got inspired to post a little bit about housekeeping <3
I hope this two months have been productive for all of you <3

that late 90s-early 2000s trend of loosely adapting literary classics into teen romcoms was the BACKBONE of our culture and society and we need to make it a thing again
Plsss give advice about balancing beauty with studies
First you have to start by acknowledging that yes, both can be done. Anyone who says that you can't have time for both is not someone I'd want to listen to! We make time for what we prioritize, full stop.
Obligatory Elle gif:
Okay. Beauty doesn't have to be something that is terribly time consuming especially if you are doing it every day. By that I mean, if you do your hair every day, it won't take nearly as long to re-do it than if you haven't touched it in a while and you also need to get through the mess before it's back at an acceptable baseline. Washing off several day-old makeup takes a lot longer than washing an already clean face. Filling in nails is faster than starting from scratch. Maintaining a fit body takes less time and energy than losing weight. Do you get what I'm saying?
You might also need to simplify your beauty routine. You don't need a 20000 step skincare routine. Eating a better diet can shave off a lot of time in the gym trying to burn those extra calories off. A more cohesive wardrobe can save time trying to find a good outfit. All of my clothes are pink or go well with pink, which isn't difficult and saves me a ton of time.
Maybe have a simple daily beauty routine and only once a week, do more time intensive things as a cute little spa day! But finding a quick daily hairstyle that makes you look hot and revamping your wardrobe to be less complicated can be a great start! Simplify your makeup routine, try to find a set workout time, and don't worry about doing that 20 minute face mask every single day.
As for studies, you need to make a schedule. Like, deciding all willy nilly when to sit down and do work just won't cut it. You need to know, "I am going to do this, this, and this today. I'm gonna start at this time. I'm gonna do this much of it. I'm going to take these breaks." You need to know that either the day before or the morning of. Plan. Your. Studies.
And when you have a plan, you also know how much free time you have, which means you know when you can do beauty stuff. You know when is a good time to wash and straighten your hair. You know when is a good time to hit the gym. You know when is a good time to have a long bath. And you know that you have 3 hours of studying to do afterwards.
It's all about simplifying, planning, sticking to that plan (!!!) and prioritizing what matters to you. If you prioritize netflix, then yeah I'm sure you will struggle to find time to exfoliate. If you prioritize exfoliating, your day will look very different now won't it.
Obligatory Elle gif part 2:
Your looks is your greatest asset. Pretty privilege is a thing. People judge you based on your looks when it comes to first impression, so yes, making the initiative to look good everywhere you go is important.
someone in the comments said
“you should not take pride or advantage in being priviledged. you should educate yourself about all the psychological damage that beauty industry, porn culture and social media does to your mind. theres nothing wrong with taking care of yourself, but if you believe in shit like this and go along with it, i truly believe that youre incredibly insecure, shallow and probably too judgemental of others as well.”
and I agree 100%! This mindset can be very detrimental. There is nothing wrong with wanting to look good, but do not pride yourself in your appearance only because that too can fade, and so will your confidence.
arundhati roy is an Indian leftist activist and author, and this is a criticism of Gandhi and Gandhian politics. this context is important. she's lived through the failure of gandhi-esque politics.
I've been in such a mood for gold, classy, pearl, heirloom jewelry pieces... Like I'm super interested in investing in really timeless pieces I'll adore my whole life but I'm an intern in her 20's trying to save for braces just checking jewerly stores like 4 times a day lol
Right now I´m truly feeling like drowning from stress. I have a ton of meetings and an important task I feel I will not finish by 12. So I'm just trying to breathe deep, take my tea, a little hummus and comfy slippers. I have just sent a couple emails being honest about being late, but promising to send everything as soon as I have it. Breathe and take care of yourself before anything. I feel I have to be honest with myself. I can't do everything all the time. But I can take my time and do my best every single day.
oof my homework got posponed like yessssssssssssssssssssssss, but still point remains. Workworkwork but in a self care way please no grade is worth your peace
Estoy viva y tengo la oportunidad de lograr todo lo que siempre he querido. Valgo mucho mucho más. Valgo tanto, que no debería vencerme el miedo a no complacer a todos, todo el tiempo. Si me tengo a mí, todo estará bien.

Hobbies for My Level Up

Embroidery
Now I already know how to embroider but I would like to continue improving and learn new stitches. It’s such a beautifully feminine art that women for centuries have mastered. Plus you can create almost anything!
Sewing
I know a little I did start classes before COVID but they got canceled halfway through when the pandemic hit 😢. I have sewn two regency gowns as I am interested in historical costuming. But it is a really useful skill to have just in general!
Cooking
Now I’m pretty good at cooking but I always want to strive to be better! Learning new dishes and perfecting old ones. I personally believe that everyone should learn to cook. It’s a fundamental part of life. We have to eat! So let’s enjoy delicious food!
Wine
I love wine it’s my alcoholic beverage of choice but I know absolutely nothing. Not only is picking a wine difficult due to lack of knowledge but I look bad not knowing anything about the drink I love. I want to learn more about it and have an extensive knowledge for when I’m hosting if Im picking something out on a dinner date.
Dance (Ballroom and English Country)
The two dances I want to learn are ballroom and English country. English country because I attend balls in the regency society I am in and want to join in on the dancing fun. Ballroom because it’s so romantic and beautiful. Two things I want to be!
Russian Language
It is such a beautiful language! Plus a large majority of the people around me speak it. There is a large Russian population where I live and even my next door neighbor is Russian! You can’t go anywhere without hearing it. So it would be beneficial to learn.
Gardening
I already have a small garden of herbs and veggies but I want to give my plants the best life I can. That means research and practice. Studying plants will be beneficial and knowing how to grow your own food is important!
Violin
I used to play along time ago as a child and absolutely loved it. I want to connect to my lost love and learn to play again. Plus it’s always good to have a musical skill in your repertoire.
Skiing
So this one I’m unsure about because it kinda scares me but it’s good to do scary things sometimes. I live in Washington and SO many people ski here. Winter sports are just a thing here. I could make a lot of connections by learning to ski. And who knows it could be fun! 🤞
Super inspiring 💞
I adore your take on "once you pass the threshold of being 'pretty enough' it stops being about looks ... and it starts being about how quick witted/accomplished etc you are." It annoys me when level up culture goes for looks only. Can you state some examples of what you think would be high value acomplishments? Looking for some inspo 🌻 Love your blog! 💞
Thanks for being so sweet 🌸
Different kinds of social circles value different accomplishments but what they all tend to praise in common are being well travelled, gaining exposure to other cultures (this includes mastering languages - I say this having neglected my Spanish course and French reading/tv for a few months), and of course the kind of skills that take time to perfect.
With the third category that can even include building up a lot of knowledge around a niche topic you’re really invested in which others aren’t as in the know about.
Don’t buy into the tumblr posts that list what they perceive to be “low vibrational” activities and what “high vibrational” ones are. Random example but I recently went to an upscale restaurant with a group from work and one of the girls knew what all the rogue pasta shapes were because her and her boyfriend have a fresh pasta subscription and cook at home. They’re literally just making random inexpensive pasta dishes at home but that gave this girl the knowledge to go to an expensive Italian place and have a better knowledge of the menu than the person at the table who was earning 7 figures. It’s little things like this that are great.
