Hair Type Series Part One: Type 1A
Welcome to our hair type series. In this series, we will the various types of hair we have and how to take care of each hair type.
We begin with type 1 which is also known as straight hair and has three subgroups. Type 1A is known as the first type of straight hair and lacks any hint of curl or wave. People with this hair type find it very difficult to hold a curl. It is the rarest hair type and it is also very common among Asian women.
Characteristics of Type 1A
The features peculiar with type 1A hair includes;
Completely straight and fine strands,
Soft textures,
Shiny appearance,
A bit wispy,
Inability to properly hold curls,
Pone to excess grease and shine.
How to take care of Type 1A hair
Heating Tools: When using heating tools, blow-drying is best done with the hair upside down to produce an extra volume. Always apply protective products onto the strands before using heat tools.
Washing: People with this hair type should reduce the amount of time spent on washing to two to three times per week. This can help in the prevention of the excess shine brought about by the hair follicles. Don't forget to condition after shampooing.
Dry Shampoo: Dry shampoo should be used as a substitute on off-wash days to tone the shine down. The application of dry shampoo also helps in the reduction of grease.
Limit the number of heavy hair products used
Make Light spritzes or Leave-in conditioners your best friend
Use shampoo and conditioners that promote volume and definition of the hair

It is less prone to split ends and breakage.
It does not get dry often.
