Though Bart was attempting to make a joke, he held back on laughing, merely nodding as if he got the joke. Considering the circumstances, it was hardly the time to be trying to make this whole matter more light-hearted than it really was. He had teamed up with Wally here and there during his career, causing this entire situation to strike a lot closer to home. âI guess thatâs good,â Tim said, a small frown stubbornly on his lips, a pause hung in the air as he pressed his lips before asking, âare you doing okay?â
What could Bart do? Lie to the one person in the world who might understand what the truth was? He couldn't do that, not now. "Wally's talking about retiring because of all this, and I...I don't know what to think. Wally is the Flash, the mentor that I had. No matter what, Wally's the reason I donned this yellow costume and he's the Flash I ran beside...I suppose it would be kind of like Batman retiring for you...not that he ever will."
