Our homework was to go out for lunch and document the experience. We chose to eat at ABC in Melbourne Central as it was an easy and central place for us all to meet. We also considered that we’re all uni students with a limited amount of money. ABC was good for us as they offered cheap meals and $4 pizzas to students.

For my interview i decided to interview a local surf photographer from the mornington peninsula. I created a magazine style zine to portray his work, with a few complications with how to create a booklet on indesign i finally managed to print my final zine at dinkums where they explained what i was doing wrong and how to fix the problem. - the image was taken at Blairgowrie Victoria.

Tying to get your friends to create letter forms
Peter Defty’s ‘Geordie Alphabet.’ I found this image on Pinterest, This image reflects the task we were given to find typography within architecture, I love the way he has used negative space from buildings in a city to create his typography.

The Grid system creates a foundation for young designers like ourselves to get a sense of scale/proportion and layout for typography. It also gives a sense of structure.
This script is an ancient form of Egyptian hieroglyphics; I find this form of type intriguing in the way they communicated their typography through images applied onto papyrus or wood.

It first sight I thought it was the word 'mum' repeated. However the handwritten type for minimum is just beautiful.
RMIT Architecture - here is a couple of images taken in the morning workshop. we had to explore RMIT to find typefaces in the architecture. We were pleased to discover that it wasn’t too difficult to find various typefaces. As you can see in the images there is the letter P, R, Q and D.
For the workshop we were given various shapes to form typography. Our group struggled at the beginning with only using squares. However once we introduced quarters of a circle and triangles we managed to create a very interesting and strong contemporary typeface.
