Andrew Hetherington photographs Full Irish Panache with Vitti Cycling For Christmas 2019, Andrew’s father Stuart (who many of you already know through “Dadcation” fame) gifted him a copy of David Flanagan’s Cycling in Ireland. The book planted the seed of an idea for Andrew; that he, his brother Richard and nephew Adam would set out to ride all 2500km of the Wild Atlantic Way, a continuous road along the western coast of Ireland. Stuart was to be their road captain, leading the team, piloting his RV as the support vehicle. When Stuart passed away of complications from cancer in May 2021, Andrew, Richard and Adam knew that they had to make a cycling trip, Stuart’s RV and all, in his memory. In September 2021 they managed to make it happen, though the dream of completing the entire Wild Atlantic Way was beyond reach this trip. So instead they came up with a plan to load the RV with bikes and supplies, and head to the south west to tackle a series of breathtakingly beautiful parcours detailed in the pages of Cycling in Ireland. Full Irish Panache is Andrew’s photographic journal of their trip and a touching tribute to Stuart. As we break for Thanksgiving, take a minute to read the full story in Andrew’s words over at @vitticycling. It’s a good reminder to be grateful for the time you have with your family, whether it’s the family you’re born with or the family you chose. #andrewhetheringtonphotography #vitticycling #fullirish #panache #givethanks #goldteethandco https://www.instagram.com/p/CWq37z_vRDW/?utm_medium=tumblr
