GOT A QUESTION? LOOK UNDER HERE
CAN I USE YOUR ART AS AN ICON/HEADER?
if it's fandom art, go ahead. please just give me proper credit. if it is art of my ocs, please dont use it. if it's fanart i made for you, you can do whatever the fuck you want with it. but i'd like it if you credited me.
CAN I REPOST YOUR ART TO (insert whatever)?
please dont repost my art anywhere. just reblog it if you like it.
CAN I BE INSPIRED BY YOUR ART?
obviously you can, that'd be awesome. tracing is also fine by me, please just credit me if you post it anywhere and don't claim it as entirely your own art, okay?
WHAT DO YOU USE TO DRAW?
i use my phone and finger and ibispaint x, the main brush i'm using right now is a custom brush, which i didn't make, or the basic ass digital pen. i do use a lot of different brushes in my art though, so feel free to ask about a specific one.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DRAWING?
i've been drawing since masterpieces came out on animal jam classic (may 26 2016), but i started to take it "seriously" when i was in my last year of primary school. i dont really want art to be my job.
more questions tba maybe idk this is mean to be an faq but iv;e never been asked anything
long post below the cut showing the differences between miitopia make up + living the dream facepaint, as well as some of my own thoughts.
xavier was the first mii which i used the face paint feature for and probably the most similar to their miitopia counterpart, but i also think they're super janky in living the dream. the fact that you can't give your miis heterochromia unless you paint over their eye is quite annoying. in general, i really don't like the fact that you only have one layer of facepaint. i really miss the ability to connect certain parts of the make up to certain facial features. i also really don't like that you can't get the face paint to actually match the mii's skin, which is very obvious with ryth. however, living the dream does allow you to completely remove a mii's eyes, nose and mouth which is very helpful. i also appreciate that a mii's skin can actually be unnaturally coloured and not just their head.
i do think that make up is much more accessible to the average person, but facepaint gives you way more freedom as you can literally draw or even type anything. i do think that the stamps are a bit less useful and diverse though, but maybe i haven't been taking advantage of them enough. also, it's kind of annoying that the default facepaint pallete is not the same as the one from the default customisation but i have found a way to somewhat easily get access to colours that aren't on the facepaint pallete. which is changing the miis skin tone to the colour i need, going back to the facepaint and selecting that colour and bobbing the colour down so i can colour pick it later.
it was difficult to draw on the switch screen at first, because i don't have any kind of stylus and long nails, but i have gotten used to it now. an actual symmetry tool would be great, im honestly surprised that there isn't one as it was in miitopia.
i do enjoy the facepaint feature though now that im used to it. i also do enjoy some of the more tedious parts of it. im sure there's also some major problems with the make up of miitopia that i can't remember. i also have noticed that living the dream's and miitopia's colours are wildly different. ltd is much brighter and more jolly, probably just the different genres. the hair is also wildly different, miitopia is very anime and ltd the dream is just normal mii hair, but with a lot more additions. once again, because different genres i imagine. i do miss the cowlicks though.
now i want to talk about the miis themselves. i am happy with how all of them look, it was fun to be able to remake them all. mysty and ivy were both very daunting to remake at first, mysty because i realised that there is no pink in the default palletes. at all. and also because she was my favourite when it came to her design. ivy was difficult due to the fact that he was originally made to mimmick my artstyle at the time, and i wasn't sure what to do about his eyes. both of them were difficult, but i eventually figured it out. i think mysty looks a lot better, partially thanks to how much less wide her mask is and ivy looks cute. he got eyebrows now. he is also one of the less janky miis with actual facial features. spiders changed a bit, he has an actual mouth now and little fangs. he also got eye shines because his eyes didn't actually look like eyes without them. instead of the faint gradient, he has the mouth triangle pattern. because black does not look good with gradients on it. bones and flames definitely changed a lot from their originals, bones' og is very. basic looking. them being a seal thing was entirely on accident. they feel like a sans oc. so i wanted to actually see what a skull looked like, specifically a seal skull. i think they look a lot better. they're very cute, they have a little hair now too since they lost the purple in their eyes. flames' change was kind of a necessary thing due to the lack of layers in ltd, him missing his eye gradient felt wrong. but then i couldn't do his weird butterfly pattern, which was only there because he looked naked without it. so i changed it to a flame . because his name. then i covered it up with a mask anyways. lol. i do really like him though. ryth was actually made after i had finished adding all the 3ds miis, so she was quite a jump from my slightly more normal miis. i dont think she has actually changed that much from her og design too, i like how she looks but the fact that her facepaint will never blend in properly will always annoy me. kelly is the most recent mii i've added at time of typing this post. it has changed, also due to necessity. kelly lost its eye gradient. womp womp. i did add the flowery pattern to their lighter scales though to make them feel more complete (also because i can;t really do the flowery eye "make up"). its colours also had to change a lot. i also couldn't do the swirly thing with its whiskers. i did change its head shape though, to try and make it a bit more lizard-y? idk if it was a success. tried to give a bit of a snout. i honestly might edit its whiskers a bit, but they actually look ok ingame.
if you read all this, thank you. :-) this is the end. goofbye
version w/o the everstone scarf. it also has some clefairy features, but it's not a fusion. crossbreed or whatever. i want to add more to this reference, but i can't think of anything to add. so i will have to deal with it looking empty to me. maybe i could've added a prevo but. i don't want to design that rn. sigh
