â PEPPER POTTS? What does Amanda want with her? â
That was the first reaction that came from Nikita when she looked at the screen and the name and face shown on it. But then, Birkhoff explained. He explained to her that she used to be the assistant of Tony Stark and that now, she was the CEO of Stark Industries, a company that had once been building and selling weapons. Weapons, that like that, not every company like that could make. Though from what Nikita had heard, they had stopped making weapons a while ago. And yet, Amanda seemed to think there was still something she could get out of it. Whatever it was, Nikita knew if Amanda was after anything, it couldnât be good. And on top of that, Ms Pottâs life seemed to be in danger.Â
NEW YORK, two days later. Over the past 48 hours, Nikita had tried getting a hold of the woman who was known as the CEO of Stark Industries 48 hours, she didnât have any success. And yet she told herself sheâd be damned if she let Amanda hurt anyone else. She had tried to get into the tower and yet the level of security had been so high that even she couldnât get into it without being seen as an intruder. Thanks to Birkhoffâs hacking skills, they had found out just when Amanda had her meeting with her. Truth be told, they had all been surprised to find out Amanda had arranged an actual business meeting, and yet now after seeing the level of security for herself, Nikita understood why. She couldnât just walk in there and take what she needed. And that was why the former agent was now here in her car, waiting for the CEO to leave the building.
Of course Amanda would be there. Nikita didnât know how she could have expected anything else. That could only mean one thing: She hadnât gotten what she wanted. And that almost made her twice as dangerous. While the blonde coming out of the building probably hadnât expected anything else when she had turned down whatever it was the former head of Division had wanted, walking out of that building and getting into the car on her own was probably the biggest mistake she could have made at that point.Â
She had followed them. Both of them. First, Ms Potts leaving, then Amanda and a second person on the seat next to her. All Nikita could do now was damage control. A careful eye always set on both cars, she drove behind them, always careful where they were driving. And then, Amanda drove past the CEOâs car, but only to pull around a moment later to get her to stop. Faster than Nikita could stop the car and react, the woman next to Amanda had left the car and pulled the door to the driverâs side of the blondeâs car open, injecting her with something that immediately made her go unconscious. Nikita didnât know what it was she had injected her with, only that it was far from good.
All of this was followed by Nikita stopping and getting out of the car, along with something that could almost be described as a rain made of bullets. She hit Amandaâs assistant and in the process had slowly made her way over to the car of the woman she wanted to protect. And while fights against Amanda had never been easy, she had somehow managed to hit her with a bullet. Not enough to injure her fatally, but enough to make her leave; defeated. At least, for this time. Nikita knew sheâd be back sooner or later.Â
Slowly, she got the blonde she was here for out of the car, knowing that if she left with the car of the CEO of Stark Industries, there was no way in hell she was getting out of town unnoticed. And yet, after a few hours, she had managed to get them both into the Division headquarters, and with a former recruitâs help, getting the blonde to medical to test what she had been injected with. With a sigh, she let herself sink into a chair next to the other woman as she heard it had only been a soft anesthetic. So now, it was only up to her to wait until she woke up so she could explain everything before she started to panic.
