Bring Me To Life | Vivian + Logan
It was no use. Logan Walker had never felt as useless as he did now than he had in his entire life. He had spent all of sixty-four hours looking for her, sleeping only in glimpses and skipping meals entirely. He didn't care. There was no way he would lose her. He had already lost enough people and he couldn't afford to add Vivian Chan to that list. And yet, he was back at the Candlewick again, back to where he started, with no loads whatsoever. The sky was dimly lit, the purple-orange hues of dusk as it slowly settled into night were already forming overhead, and Logan could already feel his body ready to collapse. He could feel it but he would make sure not to show it. Showing weariness would be to show defeat, and he needed to be in top condition to beat whoever this was, this Wakefield copycat.
He decided to head back upstairs first, splash some water on his face and head back out later tonight and retrace her steps. He quickly pulled out his phone, dialing the number that he had now memorized before putting the receiver to his ear. No answer again. He had been calling Doctor Hutch Grayson now, the last person who he knew Vivian went to see, but it seemed like the young doctor was also gone. Had the killer taken both of them? He stood in front of his door now, unsure when he had gotten there or how long he had been standing in front of the closed wooden doors. "Where the fuck are you?" he asked himself, keeping his voice hushed, almost afraid of the shadows hearing him.
The door swung open and he shut it almost immediately as soon as he got inside. He could still see the messy table and the map of the island that he had drawn on sheets of paper, marked twice over with red ink those places he'd already looked for her. His clothes still lay sprawled on the floor, untouched since the day she went missing. And yet something felt odd about the room, like someone had been inside. Logan pulled out his gun, readying it, just in case. He moved quietly, listening carefully for hushed movements and just like that, he froze at the sight he saw before him.
"Viv?"
