Quick Update...
So we're finally headed west from here. We're currently in Augusta GA, at a friends house. Did some laundry and gonna hit the road soon, I hope. Lelands panniers are stuck together right now so who knows. North and South Carolina were nice, stayed at a few campgrounds in both. Most notably were Laurel Lakes in Salemsburg. The guy who ran it didn't charge us anything because he thought we were cool, I guess? There we hung out with some dudes who called it "Blue Grass Park", they also thought we were next to insane, but hospitable in every sense of the word. The other stand out was Huntington Beach State Park, south of Myrtle Beach. We were also lucky enough to have stayed with a friends aunt and uncle. Thanks Chauncey and Margaret Densmore! They had a wonderful farm, with donkeys, horses, cats, and a random peacock. The next night (4-22) we caught word of impending thunderstorms, so we stayed at a motel along 178 in St. George's, SC. With a late start to Sunday (4-22), we rode 55 miles, down Highway 4, and stayed at a church, outside Springfeild SC. Monday was another easy day, with only 60 miles to our destination here. From here its west, with about 2 more friends along the way to LA. I apoligize for misspellings, everything is coming from cellphones at this point. Hence why all the pretty pony pictures and breathtaking landscapes, are non existent. The oh-so picturesque swamp we're surrounded by as of late, would look even worse, if I actually took a picture of it, with a cellphone camera. -Matt
Lelands new spring look.
Hamming it up at the Maryland sign.
We put out a fire in Maryland.
I started taking horseback riding lesons.
You could say I had a few moments of reflection in this room.
More "training", for the "trip".
I'm riding my bike across the country with Leland in the Spring. I feel like it's gonna take me a little longer that usual because I'll be fumbling with a camera, taking stupid photos like this one.
