Silver Birch Trees

On Friday we went to Anglesey Abbey (just outside Cambridge). Wandering through the gardens we turned a corner to see a group of silver birch trees looking stunning and very etheral in the sunlight.

I'm not sure my pictures quite do it justice. They were truly beautiful.

Advent Calendar day 6

Oops so I've skipped a day but hey.

Today a shiny coin...probably as the calendar progresses there would always be several dotted amongst the days.

This one a 20p. Oh and always minted from the year in question.

Clementines ....it's not really Christmas without clementines ...and of course an essential part if every Christmas stocking, sock, sack or fo me pillow case.

There were certain things we always got in our sack of pressies and clementines were one....watch out for others.

And yes I make sure everyone gets one still :)

Advent Calendar: day 2

A little late this one but here we go....

A hand made felt star Christmas tree decoration (made by my Mum).....just one of the lovely handmade decorations that have appeared in my advent calendar from my Mum the last few years. This one has a permanent place on the notice board above my desk (which is empty of notices and full of nice things).
