You haven't updated that in so long. I'd like to know if you plan on finishing it. You can take like another 5 months for the next chapter. But did you abandon it or not?
Oh, I absolutely am going to finish Impact. I just wrote myself into a corner (this is why you outline your fics, kids), and have been trying to undo it for months. It does have a definite ending, I’m just trying to place filler and plot together in the middle of it. I don’t have a release date for the chapter, but I have not abandoned it.
uhm, folks, if a fanfic writer deleted their story, then there’s a reason why they did that. and we, as readers, have no right to reupload it again in a different platform even without claiming it as our own. like…you may have linked back to the author’s page but it doesn’t change the fact that they took it down for a reason and you ignored their choice.
it may not be plagiarism but if we do that, we’re disrespecting the author’s decision and we are disrespecting them as a creator and as a person… so…don’t do it.
I think all writers need a friend who will encourage their desire to write absolute garbage. Not necessarily something that is badly written, but like, stupid self indulgent bullshit. “Cringey” aus or crossover fanfics. Aus or crossover fics of your own ocs.
Writing that stuff is fun and is great practice, but sometimes I feel like “wow, this is hardly productive, why am I even writing this, who else would ever want to read this?” The answer is your friend who encourages your trash writing, that’s who. Write it for yourself and for them.
