At your grad school residency your best friends can be a metalhead, a gym bro who wears american flag socks, a pothead who lives with his parents, a couple of old white guys, and two 23 year olds. And that is so beautiful to me

Ever since the original tape of the Wilhelm scream recording session surfaced I have been losing my mind a little bit over it
How 'bout that?

Updated 2026 list of companies supporting ICE. Interactive map + sources included. Learn how these banks, tech companies, and other corpora
Honestly not a lot of surprises on this list - Apple, Amazon, Bank of America, Comcast, Google, Hulu, Meta, Spotify, etc. - the companies involved tend to be super horrible for society on many levels anyway.
Good news: at least one company has broken off their relationship with ICE due to the boycott. Boycotts work, if enough people participate for a long enough time, and make clear to the companies why they are boycotting them.
There's lots of lists on tumblr for better alternatives, including using credit unions, ebay, etc.
Minnesota: please vote in this primary election.
I am begging you and your fellow MN voters to vote in the August 11th Minnesota primary election so we can have Peggy Flanagan as a senator instead of Angie Craig who voted to empower and support the federal agencies that have invaded and occupied our state and continue to harm our communities.
Please please please show up for Peggy so we don’t get stuck with ICE and AIPAC Angie.
Early voting is open! You can find info here!
adding prev's tags, as they are important info relevant to this post (that I wasn't aware of)!

what hat did you give the goat what is the instinctual hat you gave to this goat
"here's my original character, Man Who Sucks But Loves His Daughter Very Much" and it's a guy who worships at the altar of patriarchal violence and the woman he uses as an excuse and an effigy to absolve him
well i think his daughter should tell him to kill himself
I think people have truly lost any ability to be patient with storytelling.
‘I don’t understand this’ They’ll explain it if you wait.
‘I don’t like how this episode left things hanging’ There’s a continuation next week.
‘This character is flat’ Wait for them to be fleshed out.
So many of the complaints I see about shows lately are people being confused by things THAT THE SHOW WANTS YOU TO BE CONFUSED BY THATS THE FUN OF MYSTERY AND FORESHADOWING YOU ABSOLUTE GOBLINS THE MAIN CHARACTER IS ALSO CONFUSED AND THEYRE GONNA DO A BIG REVEAL AND EXPLANATION LATER IF YOU WOULD JUST FUCKING WAIT
the last food you ate is your nickname now how is it going

Reblog this and tell me what was your biggest crying over a piece of fiction. You can be vague if you don't want to spoil.

just saw pictures from mike flanagan carrie
okay serious fucking question, must he de-fang every female character he touches?
mike, it's actually more interesting for audiences that margaret is an abusive religious fundie (and also a victim of marital rape) who tries to literally beat the idea of sin into her daughter, it is actually TIMELY to adapt that correctly at this particular american moment. WHY is he so scared of every piece of source material that has ever been handed to him? i MUST know
you're laughing, mike flanagan wants to do gilmore girls with telekinetic rage and you're laughing
what if carrie was about a young witch searching for a missing cat in the alps
people saying claudia's scene in the new iwtv episode is out of character is absolutely mind boggling to me because that's liiiiterallyyyy how she feels in the books. What we saw through Louis' perspective was an idealized portrait caused by his guilt over her death and shame over how he treated her and how she grew to hate him. I do believe Claudia at one point loved Louis and I also believe she knew how to manipulate him and was trying to escape the life those men had trapped her inside, and now after 80 years of purgatory she hates him more than anything for what he did. and she should!
Also - is it the angry black woman trope every time a black female character is angry? Why can't black women express their rage? Why wouldn't Claudia's rage (an integral part of her character!!) be included in the show because she's black? Jacob Anderson said "let us be the problem" and he's right! I think there's merit to analyzing the racial bias present in the show's writing but where is the nuance y'all I'm losing my mind. I think this scene is being taken in bad faith by people who do not understand Claudia's character at all. But what do I know 🤷♀️
Anyways I continue to learn my lesson that you should never listen to the opinions of people on the internet
like. that was claudia. the real claudia. for the first time. and she was awful. and that’s Correct. the claudia we knew this whole time — that was claudia as told by louis. recalled as softer and smaller, in the same way lestat was recalled as larger and more aggressive.
once, maybe, she loved louis, when she was truly still a child. and of course he had to believe she always did, at least a little. but through the years following? by the time she died, a grown woman still reduced to his daughter? what love would she have left for him?
she was a vampire. and good at it. she was always lestat’s daughter. she is every bit the evil of his evil.
that scene wasn’t character assassination. louis’s retelling for the first two seasons was character assassination.
