Mini + Me was inspired by my love of being a mom and the special relationships mothers and daughters share. I also loved the idea that siblings could wear these pieces as a representation of their sisterly bonds. Not only is Mini + Me meant for moms, daughters and sisters alike, it’s meant for any woman who holds a place in her heart for a sweet little one. If you could go anywhere with your daughter, where would you want to take her? 

I would love to take Brooklyn to Paris. She loves cooking and baking so she could experience the foods. She also loves art and adventure. It is always fun to see the world through her eyes.

I would want to go to Disneyland with my mommy because we both love Space Mountain and California Screamin!

What made you want to start blogging? Tell us a little about yourself! 

I have loved fashion, clothes, and shopping ever since I can remember, and have always loved helping other girls learn to love fashion as well! When I first started blogging that's what I viewed it as - sharing my love for fashion with people, but also making shopping easy and fun for any girl! I also have a passion for girls to truly feel and know that they are beautiful and strive for my blog to encourage women in that way!

What is your favorite piece from the Spring collection and why? What does this piece mean to you?

I'm obsessed with the Knox V Double Pendant necklace in gold. I love that you can wear it multiple different ways, and that it can go with a white t-shirt just as easily as a little black cocktail dress! I wear this necklace with everything.

What is your favorite trend this season?

As cliche as it might sound - florals. There is something so magical about finally breaking out a floral jumpsuit after months of winter, grey, and black. I love that florals can be bold and vibrant, or subtle and softly feminine.

When shopping for jewelry, what types of pieces do you typically gravitate toward?

I'm really loving rose gold right now - I think it's so elegant, yet vintage at the same time. I tend to gravitate towards pieces that I know I can pair with multiple things in my wardrobe.

What do you love about gorjana jewelry?

I've loved gorjana for years now. I love that the jewelry is amazing quality, yet at a realistic price. I love that I can wear it with cutoff shorts and a white v-neck in the summer, or to an after 5 wedding with a cocktail dress in heels. I love that this jewelry is timeless and that I know I'll be able to wear it when I'm 24, or when I'm 44. It will never go out of style, and that's key when you're building a jewelry collection!

Tell us a little bit about yourself! 

I’m a San Diego native. I live here with my husband and two little girls, Madison and Ava. We love having the beach and the mountains all just a short drive away and you just can’t beat the weather. 

How did you get into fashion? 

I've always had an avid interest in fashion starting as a kid playing dress up, to trips to the mall as a teen and spending hours with my head in fashion magazines (that one hasn't changed, ha!).  I was working in the corporate world but after having my second baby last summer I made the difficult decision to stay home with my girls.  This gave me more time to focus on building my personal style and to focus on new career goals in an industry I never dreamt I would be a part of. I’m doing exactly what I love all while enjoying the freedom to be at home with my girls. It’s such a great balance. I find fashion to be such a fun and creative outlet and a great way to express myself artistically.

What is your favorite piece in the collection and why? 

Oh, it’s so hard to pick! I am such a fan of layering and stacking bracelets so I love all of the Makenzie Bracelets, they are so delicate and beautiful.  The Power Gemstones are just amazing, they are even cooler in person! I always get compliments on them! I also love the Knox V Double Pendant and the Mave Hammered Double Pendant, I love how versatile both of them are and that you can wear them in so many different ways.  

Where would you wear these pieces? 

I've been wearing these pieces everywhere! Because they are so minimal and simple I find them to be just the perfect finishing touch to my daily looks.  

What is your favorite trend this season?

Fringe is still going strong and I'm loving it on everything from clothes, shoes and bags.  I’m also loving the cold shoulder and off the shoulder trend, a little bit of shoulder showing through cut outs is just gorgeous for the warmer months ahead.

When shopping for jewelry, what types of pieces do you typically gravitate toward?

When shopping for jewelry I love finding unique pieces that elevate my look, something beautifully designed with a bit of shine just feels so special.  

What do you love about gorjana jewelry?

I love the simplicity of the designs, I love the quality and that year after year my collection still feels current.

Spring Collection Preview

Our Spring Collection was celebrated with an evening of pampering at the amazing Kate Somerville. 

As industry professionals browsed the new collections, we sipped on Juice Served Here and snacked on specialty desserts from Joan’s on Third (a must have)! Kate Somerville provided rejuvenating mini facials and makeup touch ups by the fabulous Stevi Christine! It was certainly a night to remember! What made you want to start blogging?

I've always had a love for fashion, I majored in it in college, but was working in marketing at the time. My husband knew how much I loved it, so he convinced me to start posting on Instagram, because people always were curious about where I got my clothes and such. It started out purely as a fun hobby, then evolved into a blog + instagram, and now into so much more! But I'm doing what I truly love, so it never feels like work.

What is your favorite piece from the collection and why?

Probably the cress shimmer necklace + the cress shimmer lariat! I love the element of sparkle...plus, I'm a huge fan of layering a short necklace, with a delicate long one! Simple and elegant.

What are your favorite trends for the season?

Faux fur, chunky knits, flares, layering jewels.

Which Law of Layering do you utilize the most?

Law 5. I pick a theme and I go with it. I like to layer pieces of the same theme and plan my outfit around that.

When you’re shopping for jewelry, what types of pieces do you typically gravitate for?

I have my few big, large and in charge statement pieces that I rotate from season to season. But as seasons change, I always like to stock up on great dainty, more everyday type pieces, such as midi rings, delicate necklaces, stackable bracelets, etc.

I'm 26 years old and live in Houston, Texas with my sweet husband and two adorable rescue pups!

My love for gemstones has recently been reawakened. I incorporated gemstones in some of my very first designs but was never aware of the special energy they possess. I wanted to create a collection of bracelets that had a deeper meaning. Each of the bracelets has been cleansed and set with positive intentions to give you that extra boost of special power.

The Warrior Girls

We are so excited to share our newest collection benefitting With My Own Two Hands - a non-profit very special to us. Their efforts continue to inspire us, humble us & motivate us. We hope after learning more about them, you will feel the same!

With the belief & understanding that diminishing poverty starts with helping children, WMO2H is dedicated to providing an education to children in need while making sure they have the necessities of shelter, water & food. 

The Warrior Collection was inspired by the courageous Maasai girls of Kenya that are victims of Female Genital Mutilation and sold into marriage as early as ten years old.

With My Own Two Hands Foundation is in the process of building a dormitory at the Helga girl’s rescue center in Kajairo, Kenya. This center provides a safe home and an education to the girls in need. Proceeds of the Warrior Collection will go toward furnishing their dormitory with bedding, lockers and other immediate needs. 

By purchasing the Warrior pieces, you will help to improve the lives of so many girls in need.

I gravitate towards engaging and eye catching pieces that I can still wear on a daily basis.

1) I'm never NOT hungry especially when it comes to Chick-fil-a and Chipotle!

2) I coach a special needs cheer squad every Wednesday night with my mom and best friend. 

3) I once moved to Disney World for 4 months with intensions of becoming a princess and ended up taking out the trash all over Magic Kingdom instead! Needless to say, I have a whole new perspective of the most magical place on earth!

Two Ways | The Leather Jacket

Being based in quaint Laguna Beach, California while also having roots in the fast paced city of New York, gorjana has the unique opportunity to balance the two lifestyles. For our Fall campaign, we harmonized the two opposites and created a collection for the put-together west side dame, the edgy, hip east side girl and every look in-between.

NYC

For our Fall Collection photo shoot we headed to New York City. We love everything about the city- the atmosphere, the inspiration, and most importantly, the food! We can’t wait to share our campaign photos next week when our Fall I collection launches, but for now, here’s a little behind-the-scenes from the shoot and a list of our favorite places you won’t want to miss in New York!

Our Fall I collection was shot in some of our favorite spots around the West Village. We mixed it up for Fall II and shot on both the East and West Side.

We fell in love with Jack’s Wife Freda on Carmine Street. Honestly, we could’ve eaten there every morning. The best thing on the menu is the poached eggs with grilled tomato and haloumi, trust us!

Another breakfast fave in the West Village was Buvette. Be sure to order any of the steamed egg dishes and start with a scone or two!

You can’t go to New York without a stroll through Central Park. We were treated to a mini concert at the Bethesda Terrace. We strolled through on our way from Ladurée on the UES to Levain Bakery on the UWS (which happens to have the best cookies in the city and quite possibly the world.)

And by far one of our favorite spots to dine in the city is at Kafana. Being Serbian, Gorjana doesn’t pass up the opportunity to dine at a traditional Serbian restaurant when she finds one. You won’t find more authentic or more delicious Serbian food anywhere else in the city. You’ll eat more food then you thought was possible and be totally okay with it. You can find it on Avenue C between 7th and 8th in the East Village.
