Gerebito is posting nice things about Carlos on a regular, so I don't think they had a fight or something. It looks like he's just not part of his friend group anymore, for whatever reason. If he's going to resume informing "closely" about Carlos when he recovers, we don't know, but I have my doubts

Doubt it. If he went to Wimbledon wouldn't he want to make it further into the tournament?

And I don't really think he can beat Jannik.

they don't rig the draw for anyone, at least not at a high level. players get punished heavily if they try match fixing, so why would draw rigging be allowed?

as an example this week there's an atp 250 tournament in s'Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands. 2 Dutch players are facing each other first round. if the Dutch tennis federation could rig it to keep both dutch players in the draw of course they would, but that's not how draws work. there's no way the oldest tournament on Earth and the most famous tennis tournament would rig a draw, especially not for a washed kyrgios. there's a difference between speculations and daydreaming

100% he would hope for that. But it is kinda unlikely to happen, plus, I'd still bet on Jannik. He beat him already as a teenager.

Kyrgios might have won a match now (against Moutet, who serves like shit, has lost now 6 matches in a row and is 6-13 this year so far) but his match fitness is questionable at best, and apart from his serve he looked pretty average - and Jannik is great at neutralising big serves.

Kyrgios might have been someone for the occasional upset, but he has been basically out for over 3 years. He played 8 matches and lost 6 of them. Very different situation from 2022 or before, where he was a top 20 player.

Besides all that, I really hope his comeback fails again anyway. He is an asshole and an domestic abuser and should not be allowed on a tennis court anymore.

Realistically, there's like a 99% chance that even a top-3 seed ends up facing a top-10 player. They can easily draw a 5–8 seed in the quarters and then one of the top two in the semis or final. That's still a pretty favorable path, but we'll see over time how that title is viewed.

For example, if Mensik wins Wimbledon (unlikely this year), that would be a plus for Zverev. Btw, Djokovic is currently the last player to have beaten Alcaraz and Zverev at Roland Garros.

Can people be normal for a second? Why is there supposedly an asterisk next to Zverev's s title It's an inside joke of sorts, before RG some fans and podcast hosts were musing about Jan's recent wins having an asterisk since Carlos was injured
