Just saw some biphobe in the Black Sails tag try to argue that Flint can’t be attracted to women because he didn’t look enthusiastic enough while having grief sex with Miranda in a bleak attempt to numb the agony they were both feeling over the (presumed) death of their mutual lover Thomas.

I always read it as that he is not into her as a sexual partner. But I’m biased, because I don’t like the character that much. Didn’t realise about being confirmed, that Flint is gay. But now that you mentioned it, yes, Toby said, that he knew from the beginning and that it was one reason to take the role.
