let's just talk about episode 12 for a minute
so i'm confused. the same as pretty much everyone, it seems.
dream knight episodes have always left some blanks for us to fill, but here, i feel like they're making us a fill a blank the size of at least 2 episodes.
there are so many unanswered questions and explanations needed from episode 11 to episode 12 and that confusing af epilogue:
inhyung's illness was getting worse. in episode 11, inhyung asking her mum to grant her wish of one last dance with jb made it seem like she would genuinely collapse after the final dance and there would be a big dun dun dunnnn. so firstly, how was she still standing, no scratch that, JUMping down stairs after the dance; secondly, still alive; thirdly, stiLL alive... after a year? without any explanation.
jb coming back. i just answered an ask about this: how?? how does this fit in with any of the plot? and what even was the point of it all, if he knew was going to come back? how did he know he would come back? ? i? what? and also, jr standing there like it was completely normal for jb to suddenly show up after a year. what about the rest of them? honestly what just happened?
i'm not going to talk about jr too much here because i have a tag for that which i'll ramble a lot on later. what i will say is that, although it was what i wanted; for jr to give up on his evil vengeance phase because he's not evil at heart, they didn't show his transition of the post-hateful, broken and alone jr of ep 11, becoming the nice guy/ truly caring for inhyung jr of ep 12. i feel like that was something we should have seen happen.
that whole dance show bit. sorry. this might just be me... but was that literally the entire special performance?; inhyung pretending to collapse, paramedics taking her away, it turning out to be GOT, who then stand up on stage around her looking all swag, the end? what a performance (!) if it was just going to be the A dance with them all on the stage, then honestly what was the need for that.
there is a way to answer these questions and that would be, they made a great story episodes 1-11 but they had to end it quickly, so they just gave an the main point of the drama, but the audience wouldn't be happy if the knights really left, so lets just bring jb back at the end in a cloud of mystery. the rest of it doesn't matter, it was all for dramatic effect, well done everyone good job we're done. and they passed it off with the heart wrenching acting from inhyung (and jr)
either that or they might bring it back, but i very much doubt it.
sidenote: there will be a jr ramble at some point, if any of you are wondering. but i might wait for the i got7 collab group to sub the last two episodes before i make it.
i probably sound harsher than i mean too, i still love the show (can't help it) (but mainly because of jr's character) but i'm just a bit disappointed with that ending.
