Yesterday I reposted some old screen-grabs of Tom Zenk that I created back in 2006 on my original Wrestling Arsenal website. These were scenes from a tag team match between the Can-Am Connection (Tom Zenk & Rick Martel) and the evil Shadows.
I really enjoyed the Shadows' dirty tactics (strangling Zenk, double-teaming him, tossing his hot ass out of the ring, etc.) You will like it too if you get off on illegal Tag Team brutality. And the Shadows' masks and bodysuits make them seem even more threatening and creepy and inhuman (while also emphasizing the near nudity of their hot opponents.)
So I went and found the match on a Torrent site so I could create this 5-minute video edit. Obviously I cut out Martel's shine early in the bout (mostly a bunch of flexing Headlocks) and focused on Zenk's baby-face-in-peril punishment.
This match was the opening bout at Madison Square Garden on June 14, 1987. The Can-Am Connection would disconnect less than a month later. As described in his shoot interview on TomZenk.net, you can see Zenk portraying the weaker damsel-in-distress while his stud partner gets to shine in the hero's spotlight, as per usual.
