3 More Found Dead; Finger River, Sheldon Park, Roger's Yacht Basin

3 of the 5 recent kidnapping victims have been found dead this morning, spread throughout the city of Gotham. Police are keeping their names and cause of death quiet until families can be notified. As of now, the Captain has neglected to give a statement on what the GCPD are doing to find the escaped Asylum patient, as well as the continued presence of Blackgate prisoners, but are encouraging people to travel in groups, and to avoid being on the streets at night.

Our thoughts are with the families of the deceased today.

Authorities have just arrived on the scene after a silent alarm alerted local police. So far, only some satellite and transponder parts have been reported missing. Authorities have no leads on suspects yet, and ask that if anyone has heard anything, or saw anything, to please call the tip line.

Body of Blonde Woman Found; More Still Missing

Tonight, at 9pm, the body of a young woman— who shall remain nameless— was found out near the shipyard in Gotham Docks. While her cause of death remains classified, the GCPD have released this statement about the ongoing investigations into the disappearance of several other women, all seemingly with blonde hair:

"We encourage people to take extra precaution in going out at night these next few weeks, as we continue our efforts to locate the escapees from the Blackgate Prison. We can’t be sure if these disappearances are connected with the recent escape of a prisoner from Arkham Asylum, but it’s best to be overly cautious. If you fit the described profile, and feel your safety is at stake, we have set up shelters at all main precincts that you can take haven in. Stay safe, Gotham.

The police have released the description of the number one suspect, a man named Jervis Tetch who goes by the name “Mad Hatter”, a man Gotham had dealt with a few years ago with quite similar circumstances happening before his capture. He prays on younger women, or younger looking women, with blonde hair and blue eyes, though eye color isn’t an exclusive factor. The police say to be on the lookout for anyone acting suspicious and to contact them immediately. Absolutely do NOT approach anyone, as they do deem this man armed and dangerous, as well as having the ability to easily hypnotize his victims.

Oct 31st, 2014 - Reports are coming in that Bane's assault on the air has been disabled. With this new development, Red Cross and the National Guard are on their way to Gotham to combat Bane's men. Please, we urge you to stay in your homes at all cost.

GCPD Declares Martial Law

Oct 29th, 2014 - Late last week, the GCPD were forced to evacuate their precincts, and police presence has significantly dwindled. In the following days, an understanding public has became a frustrated one, and began raiding gun stores and taking matters into their own hands. As the public cries out for action, the GCPD finally answers. The Gotham Gazette received this correspondence from Captain Maggie Sawyer earlier today:

"The situation has become dire. Bane's actions against this city are unacceptable. The citizens he claims to be protecting from us are being left by the wayside by this man that claims to be a fair leader. He has released a prison full of criminals onto the masses, risking the lives of everyone in Gotham. In response, groups of citizens have been preparing to take matters into their own hands, and this is the last straw.

Clearly, the citizens of this great city won't stand for it anymore, and neither will we.

As of this moment, I am declaring martial law on the city of Gotham, New York. Local government has been ineffective in dealing with this crisis, and it is time for us to take our city back from Bane and his men.

The GCPD is requiring the following from citizens: 

Stay in your homes unless absolutely necessary. A 6pm-6am curfew is in effect, but we still urge citizens to stay inside regardless.

Anyone involved in the recent gun store robberies is required to surrender the stolen weapons to the GCPD. No legal action will be taken against you if you comply.

All schools and businesses are to be shut down until further notice. Community centers will still be open, where rations for families can be procured, and homeless citizens can find shelter from the chaos. 

Plans are in motion to rid Gotham of Bane and his men, and we hope to get the city back to normal and hand control back to the proper channels as soon as possible. Until then, the above rules are in place and will be enforced.

Guns Stolen From Local Ranges; Gangs and Civilians Mobilizing

Oct 27, 2014 - Reports are coming in that upward of a dozen weapons stores and gun ranges have been robbed in the past forty-eight hours or so. Police are unavailable to comment but the Gazette urges citizens to stay inside continue attempting to reach outside support via the Red Cross and National Guard.

Witnesses have contacted the Gazette with reports of para-military behavior stemming from those who are fed up with waiting for someone to come and help them. Territories - particularly in heavy gang areas - are becoming dangerous as fuel and food supplies in the city dwindle. Conserve your goods the best you can and be safe.

Gunshots fired at GCHS

Oct 20th, 2014 - Gunshots were heard just outside Gotham Central High School this morning around noon. One of them shattered a classroom window, but no one was injured, thanks to the school’s typically poor attendance.

When officers checked the scene they found the shooter deceased outside the building. The man was identified as Giuseppe Castillanzo, a known associate of the Galante crime family. Cause of death is thought to be blunt force trauma at the base of the skull, but there is currently no suspect in custody.

Principal Gregory Werner says on the incident, “We will be working with the police to investigate why this happened, and I urge students and parents not to see this as cause for alarm. School must continue despite recent disruptions.” Superintendent Palmers has stated that she does not intend to shut down the public schools.

One of the teachers at GCHS, Helena Bertinelli, is the daughter of Franco Bertinelli— Gotham’s “Boss of bosses” for nearly two decades before the 1996 assassination. Bertinelli has no criminal record or known involvement in illegal activity, but her absence today raises some questions. Adding to the possible coincidence is that it was Helena Bertinelli’s classroom window that was struck. Bertinelli has declined to comment.

Arson Claims a Gotham Heights Neighborhood

Oct 15th 2014 - At 7:26pm, the home of Franco Santoro went up in flames, followed closely by the rest of his Gotham Heights Neighborhood. Santoro, along with his wife and two children, were home at the time the blaze started, and all were pronounced dead once the fire was extinguished. Five people died in the flames that engulfed the surrounding homes, and many more are in the hospital being treated for burns and smoke inhalation. 

Witnesses report seeing a stream of flames coming from the sky to start the fires, being delivered by a military-grade flamethrower. The vigilante known as "Hawkfire" was also spotted on the scene, seemingly fighting this masked arsonist. Unfortunately, the suspect could not be detained, but Hawkfire rescued at least 8 families from their homes by the time the GCFD arrived on the scene.

Transportation of prisoner interrupted this afternoon At approximately 1 p.m. today, a cruiser transporting Angel Vallelungua , 43, formerly detained in Peña Duro penitentiary alongside fellow fugitive Bane, was attacked. Both officers overseeing the transport were wounded, one of whom is in critical condition. Vallelungua had fled the scene before backup arrived.

Rabbits Causing Chaos On Gotham Roads

Since the introduction of one million rabbits to Gotham, there have been 74 reported car crashes caused by or linked to the rabbit infestation. 57 were caused by rabbits chewing through vital cables, while 17 were caused while trying to avoid rabbits which suddenly dart across the road. 5 crashes resulted in a total of 7 fatalities. 

Drivers are advised to check the function of their breaks and clutch before driving on public roads.

Problems Keep Multiplying as Rabbits Run Rampant in Gotham

Car owners across the city are being warned to park their cars in secure locations as the rabbit epidemic continues in Gotham City. Rabbits are climbing under cars and chewing the wires, causing hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars worth of damage. They're chewing clutch lines, break lines, and other wires essential to car safety. Damage caused by rabbits is not covered by most insurance companies, leaving many people worried and frustrated.

The arrival of what is now estimated to be a million rabbits running around Gotham city has brought numerous problems with them. In just the last few days we have seen a drastic rise in vehicular accidents on the streets, as well as thousands of homes being invaded and damaged. No one has yet explained where the rabbits have come from, but protesters are taking to the streets as alleged plans are being discussed for mass extermination. 

Until a definitive plan of action has been decided on, it looks like Gotham's newest wildlife might be here to stay.

Breaking News in Carrot Case

SEPT 23, 2014 -- During a press conference early this morning, Captain Maggie Sawyer had this to say when asked about the murder of former GCHS counselor, Ginny Carrot:

"The murder of this woman is nothing short of a tragedy. While my condolences are extended toward the family of the deceased, I am pleased to be able to say that a break in the case has been made, and a culprit has been identified. The Game Master, a man that has been terrorizing this city for far too long, was the man behind the gun that took Ginny Carrot's life. 

The Game Master, a man named Minax Maros, was found deceased in the rubble of Wayne Tower. While the circumstances are less than ideal, justice has been served for Mrs. Carrot and those caught up in his games. 

So let's remember this woman for the wonderful person she was: Beloved by her family and the students she helped. On behalf of myself and the GCPD, she will be gravely missed."

We regret to inform our congregation that Father Pino is among the many injured in the collapse of Wayne Tower. He was aiding the paramedics and providing counsel at the scene; it is suspected that he was struck by falling rubble.

Father Pino is currently undergoing treatment. Please keep him in your prayers.

Police are asking for help in identifying these victims.  Below is a list detailing basic physical descriptions of the injured.  Family member are asked to bring current photographs and a personal belonging of the victim in case DNA analysis is required.  Police officers will be stationed at Thompkin’s Clinic, Gotham General and St. Luke’s to help family members through the identification process.

Eyes: Hazel

Approximately 55-60 years old.  

Found wearing black suit and red tie.  Harvard Law class ring of 1974.  Initials F.O

Distinguishing Feature:  Scar from open heart surgery

Transported to St. Luke’s.

Condition:  Grave but stable

  6’0 Italian male.

Hair: Black

Eyes:  Brown

Approximately 30-35 years old

Found wearing full collar shirt and cassock

Transported to Gotham General

Condition: Critical but stable

  6’0 Caucasian male.

Hair: Black

Eyes: Blue

Approximately 20-25 years old

Found wearing black jeans, plain white tshirt, leather jacket.

Personal effects: set of keys; keychain of the letters J and R with an inlaid pearl.

Distinguishing feature:  White bangs

Transported to Gotham General

Condition: Extremely critical

  5’3 Caucasian female.

Hair:  Red

Eyes: Blue

Approximately 40 - 50 years old

Found wearing grey pencil skirt and purple blouse

Distinguishing Feature:  Wedding bands with the inscription M.I.  Necklace with medallion of St. Peter.

Condition:  Guarded

Transported to Leslie Thompkin’s Medical Clinic

5’6 female of Hispanic descent.

Hair:  Blonde

Eyes:  Brown

Approximately 20 - 25 years old.

Found wearing jeans and Nine Inch Nails band t-shirt.  Found outside of the wreckage.

Distinguishing Features:  Ears double pierced.  USMC dog tags.  Rush, [indiscernible]  

Condition:  Serious but stable

Transported to St. Luke’s

Officials are releasing a casualty list of the unidentified victims found in the wreckage of Wayne Towers.  Currently over two dozen people have been recovered from the wreckage and officials state that the list is bound to grow as more and more debris is cleared from the site.

Police are asking for help in identifying these victims.  Below is a list detailing basic physical descriptions of the injured.  Family member are asked to bring current photographs and a personal belonging of the victim in case DNA analysis is required.  Police officers will be stationed at Thompkin’s Clinic, Gotham General and St. Luke’s to help family members through the identification process.

Found wearing a grey suit.  

Distinguishing Feature:  Tie pin has the initials M.P.

Hair: Blonde

Eyes:  Brown

Approximately 25-30 years old

Found wearing security guard uniform for WE.  Name tag read “Joel.”  

Distinguishing feature:  Tattoo of a skull interlaced with two serpents of left arm

Transported to Leslie Thompkin’s Medical Clinic

Condition: Serious but stable

 4’11 female of Hispanic descent

Hair:  Brown

Eyes: Brown

Approximately 18-23 years old

Found wearing black sweatpants and pink sports bra.  Found outside the wreckage site.

Distinguishing Feature:  Large scar down left arm from a previous compound fracture to the ulna.

Transported to St. Luke’s

Condition:  Serious but stable

 5’11 Black female.

Hair:  Black

Eyes: Brown

Approximately 30 - 35 years old

Distinguishing Feature:  Cesarean scar.  Wedding bands with the inscription J.W.

Condition:  Grave

Transported to Gotham General

 6’2 male of Asian descent.

Hair:  Black

Eyes:  Brown

Approximately 25 - 30 years old.

Found wearing jeans and Gotham Knights Jersey.  Found outside of the wreckage.

Distinguishing Features:  Left ear triple pierced.  Right ear double pierced.  Scar on right knee from possible knee surgery.

Condition:  Guarded

Transported to Gotham General
