Deathmon was originally created as a submission for the Digimon Web Dot-art contest and was split into two colour variations, though in lore the black variant supposedly functions more like a burst mode. Recently Deathmon has seen a resurgence in popularity being featured in the 2020 anime, Pendulum Z, and Espimon Dim card.

Filmon’s name comes from the French “fil” meaning wire to continue the French naming theme of Herissmon, however the French don’t tend to use the word “fil” in reference to a hedgehog’s quills.

Herissmon is the only Digimon to return from the DMX1 that’s not an ultimate stage digimon.

Algomon Ultimate has many design inconsistancies accros its various appearances, frequently changing the colour of it’s fingers, horn, vines, and the concave in its chest. In fact this concave may have originally been intended to serve as Algomon’s lower jaw as the original artwork has no visible lower jaw on the head section.

Introduced on the original Digimon V-pet in 1997 Tyranomon featured on the packaging of the device making them the first Digimon that many people would see, at least until the popularisation of the anime, and with it, Tyranomon’s regular pre-evolution; Agumon.

V-Mon seems to have been made as a pre-evolution for V-Dramon who was introduced in the manga 2 years prior to V-mon’s introduction into the anime in 2000. However, possibly due to conflict in Adventure ‘02s directorial process, V-mon is never shown evolving into V-Dramon in the show.

Ophanimon Falldown Mode: X is the only memeber of the three archangels who uses the falldown mode suffix pioneered by Lucemon despite the other angels also having dark forms.

Mantaraymon X is unique on the DMX2 as the only adult stage Digimon who can only evolve from one child Digimon once all evolution options are unlocked.

One of the seven great deamon lords, Barbamon X represents gluttony and thus the demon Mammon in the christian culture he’s derived from, which coincidentally follows digimon naming conventions.

Keemon and Yarmon were unfortunately left out of Impmon’s 16x16 v-pet debut on the Pendulum 20th but fortunately just a year later they made their first appearance on both versions of the DMX2.

Despite being created a few years after the original Brachimon, Ultimate Brachimon has had a better run in the virtual pet field, first appearing in the Pendulum X in 2003 while Brachimon has still yet to make an appearance in a traditional vpet.

Although Metal Greymon X’s virus variant has only appeared on the DMX2 it’s left arm made it to TV screens in 2020 attatched to Metal Greymon: Alterous Mode with a palette change. Maybe next reboot pal.

Created for the DMX2, Dark Tyranomon X’s only Tyrano-species evolution is  Mametyramon turning it from the virus attribute to data. This contrasts with Tyranomon X’s only Tyrano-species evolution on the DMX1, Metal Tyranomon X, turning it from data to virus. This one’s not my best but their sprites are a little goofy so I’ll take it.
