Gower Ancient Woodland Survey April 2015. Images from Jo Mullett.
Cynefin: Mapping Wales’ Sense of Place is an Heritage Lottery Funded project to digitise the tithe maps of Wales. Exploring Gower’s Ancient Woodlands is one of six local projects across Wales that is working with these tithe maps. Our project helps to establish which of these are ancient woodlands, by surveying them for the wildlife they contain. It looks at how these woodlands have changed since the tithe maps were drawn up in the 1840s.
