Ow, ow, ow.

Last night the plan was to drive about halfway to Paris, hitch up the tent at a campsite then carry on to the venue the next day.

Not a whole lot of camping options at 11pm.

Ultimately we pulled over in an industrial estate and managed to pitch two tents on a patch of grass the size of an ants toenail.

Ropey nights sleep, but eitherway woke up full of beans for the remainder of our journey to play our first ever gig outside of the UK!

Currently we're sat in a cafe with wifi, nursing a few coffees and coke for as long as we possibly can to maximise our networking and such.

Tonight is our first show in Europe! So exciteddd..

CAN YOU HEAR ME?

We made it to France! Not without a hitch mind you (we had to drive back to wales to get our paper licenses, got stuck in traffic and then missed our ferry), but luckily due to our quaint welshboy charm we were able to arrange passage on the following ferry for free.

REJOICE! WE MADE IT!

The ferry was quick but strenuous...screaming children, ropey waters and £7.50 for some obscene slop marketed as curry, lasagne and fish and chips. I refuse to believe it was what they were actually serving and must have been the run off from the oil used in the ships engine. Currently it's 21.30 and we've got our gig in Paris tomorrow evening. Paris is 259km away so old J-dog is getting most of the driving in now whilst myself and the rhythm section (<--me and red spent about a minute trying to remember how to spell rhythm) start on some bevvies and get all continental.

We are getting on the snails and frog-legs first thing tomorrow.

Tour Diary: London and Video

After a harrowingly long drive (about 7 hours) to London from Glasgow we arrived bleary-eyed and murderously tired to Dalston. Recording the video to Tephra was tremendous fun but i think it was all like trying to record a dream you've had when you've eaten some bad chilli or fallen asleep at work or something. We are however quite excited to have it edited and out for you guys to see. (i was covered in matt white paint- check the instagram).

The following day was our day off, we spent the entire day playing Madden on the xbox and choreographing a juggling routine for me and tee, the conception video is somewhere below this post.

After going out to flyer some people in London i hooked up with my bro for some beers..lots of beers which landed me lost in Stockwell and i got mugged twice. far from fucking ideal!

Tour Diary: GLASGWE!

Glasgow was insane in the MEMBRANE. Usually when you have to travel 300 odd miles to a place you've played once before 2 years ago you're expecting to be playing to some disheveled scots man heckling you with "EYE HATE ICELAND!"

this was not the case.

warmly received upon arrival, the venue (classic grand) is fecking brilliant. (Tenants beer not so brilliant but for reference, better than carling). Scottish accents are the bomb. And it turns out plenty of people dug us, dig dig dig dig. dig dug. and we did what i think was our first ever encore, took us a while to decipher the cry for 'one more tune' in scotstongue but once we got it we simply had to oblige!

anyways the plan after the show was to get some good sleep then spend the next day driving down to london ready for the video shoot for tephra, only about 20mins before stage time we get a text off our manager saying 'youre expected in london at 8am tomorrow'

Tour Diary: 95 miles to Glasgow

Ok so largely neglected blog lately. I will endeavour to be more blog-pious henceforth. Currently we're in the van enroute to Glasgow. Only 95 miles left to go and we've been driving since about 10am this morning. Serious mile notching going on, so far we've eaten just under 1600 miles this tour..I suspected we could have driven to the moon but murph looked it up and that's more like 250,000 odd miles. Steady 80mph would get us there in 124 days (give or take a few piss and petrol stops). We played Cardiff last night and it just rocked. We're in a really good groove now, the sets have reached a natural tightness and we're just really enjoying being on stage, relaxing and drinking it in. Drinking the oxygen. Something like that. Murphs pokèdex for the tour is 20. A bit weak.

So this is fucking it. Throw your toys out the fucking pram and we'll still sell the shit outta our merch and rock the shit outta every shitter there. We're kicking the shit outta every curt in the UK and you wanna put your fuckin design on us?! Ditch us and see where that gets you. We kicked the FUCKING shit outta Cardiff tonight. We just fucking owned and it felt fucking great. Thanks to the support, especially Tides, we've got a fucking future together! Tour Diary: Day 5

Tour Diary#4: Day 3

Yesterdayyy was Newcastle! They might as well have spoken Klingon to begin with but once you adjust it's a lovely accent. we played a joint called the Cumberland arms. Sort of outside the city but it was a wicked venue, and me tee and murph had some local sausage and mash. It tasted great but it could have been a boot for all we cared, it was just glorious to eat food off a fucking plate and not in a bag/basket. Props to Humanism last night, they rocked. And mega props to Amy and Amy who put us up for the night! Avi

Tour Diary #3: Day 2

Yesterday was Bristol. We woke up t'other side of the bridge in Chepstow cus we had no place to stay Essex-side, this involved a long-ass van drive of about 4hours long into the night, complete with team- insomniac (myself, Tee and Josh) and team-sleep (Murph, Tin and Danny. I'm fairly sure we reached a point of collective insanity, discussing how our 'reindeer basically exploded from tight insides'...ok maybe you had to be there but team-insomnia were laughing maniacally to this for a few hours. So Bristol was a trendy as eff. Everybody looks like Ramona Flowers and at one point some dude was throwing white marshmallows at us from his bedroom window. We appreciated the gesture but marshmallows are just empty carbs. Show was tasty, thanks to April who bought us plenty of bananas and fruit juice. No mouth ulcers on this tour! Currently driving to Newcastle. Everybody loves Newcastle!!

TOUR DIARY#1: DAY ONE

Ok so today we packed our shit and hauled our asses to Harlow, Essex (it's the only way, we're told). Arrived at the joint, called The Square, and collectively sighed a game when the exterior was akin to a rugby club in Risca. We shudda known though, such is the case with English venues that they look shocking from the outside but pretty bitchin' on the inside (I'm looking at you The Vic in Derby). Anywhos we were a bit worried no-one would show up to see us play but as the stage time rolled round a queue of about 100 teenagers sprung up. Felt so good to play again, Essex rocks!
