Hi all,Â
I'm afraid to say that I am a little pressed for time, and it's not going to get any better soon which is why I feel it would be more fair to both my character (Grace) and to you other role-players to have someone who has the time and enthusiasm to put more time into this than I can. I've had so much fun here, I really have, and I've enjoyed it so much, not to mention how much I've learned, but it's not working out as well as I'd hoped. I'm going to miss it a lot, and you lot too, just keep writing brilliantly (honestly, from the first time I stepped in here and ever since I've been amazed at how great you all are at writing). Also, not promising this is the last you'll see of me...who knows, I might return in the dark of night when you don't expect it c; And with that, I wish you all great luck in the future of this rp, lots of hugs, and stay safe. Oh, and be kind to each other!Â
Byebye!Â

A Grace from the Past || Closed
As she walked around town the wind caught Grace's hair making it swivel around her head clouding her vision. Vexed, Grace flung a hand out of the protection of her pockets and brushed it away from her face and then made sure her coat was buttoned all the way up before putting her hand back into the safety of the pocket. While walking she twirled the key in her left pocket absentmindedly allowing her mind to wander past what her eyes saw.
It was a cold autumn day, a day just like this one only 20 years ago. Grace had been sitting cross legged on her bed in her room, the clock on the night stand next to her told her that it was three minutes past midnight. On a normal day it would have meant nothing else than that the time was three minutes past midnight, however today it meant that Grace was now 18 years old. This was of high important as it meant that she was freed of the obligation to have someone looking after her, freed of -according to the law- the need to have parental or guardian's care. She would now -by law- be allowed to take up her own place somewhere. She would no longer be forced to stay in this shabby, declining place. She could leave and no one could stop her. Her mind started to spin, she could actually leave. There was nothing that said she had to stay anymore. Nothing to hold her to this forgotten place. Grace threw her legs carefully over the edge of the bed then sat her feet gently down on the floor. She moved swiftly across her room to the closet on the opposite side wherein a trunk lay. A large trunk. She tried to pull it out silently but considering the size of it there was no surprise that a sound would erupt when she dragged it across the floor. Grace paused for a moment - her heart beating fast - she had to be careful, this was one of the few occasions where her father was actually home, sleeping in his bed one floor down. Not that he could do anything, she was 18 now. Still. She'd prefer to avoid the confrontation if she could not knowing how her father would react. He'd never cared before....apart from that one time 9 years ago when she'd tried to run away...he had become really upset back then...would he be again? She was after all doing the same thing now...only this time it was legal of her to do so. She was of age. Nevertheless, better safe than sorry. Grace quickly collected the few things she owned which included several story books of princess' and warrior's, one of them was particularly worn, the edges were no longer sharp. It was a green large book called 'The Young and Brave' and it was a collection of stories about Princess' and Warrior's that were incredibly brave and had done some spectacular things while risking their own lives. Grace cradled the book against her chest before carefully wrapping it in a red sweater and then laying it carefully in the open trunk on the floor. She found herself thinking for the first time in probably all her life that it was a good thing she had so little things - they would all fit in that trunk if she brought the one backpack she had too...and her purse. Throwing all the clothes and things she had left (including the alarm clock) in the trunk and then cramming what wouldn't fit there into the backpack while rounding up her wallet and the one necklace she had, and throwing those into her purse she was done rather quickly and left among her was an empty room. It was so empty. She'd stripped it of everything she could fit in her trunk (which was a lot seeing as it was a big trunk and she didn't have a lot of things). Grace closed the trunk with some difficulty and then threw her backpack on her back, her handbag over her shoulder and grasped the handle of the trunk with her left hand. She paused to listen and tried to make her breathing as quiet as possible. She could hear her father's snores, he must be in a deep sleep. It then occurred to her that though unlikely as it sounds he might notice that she's gone and alert the police...that would not be good. He probably wouldn't but if he would it could ruin her whole thing for even though she was of age it might look bad if she still left without telling what society considered her guardian. Placing her backpack and purse on the floor as quietly as she could she took a pen out of the handbag and then went up to the wall beside her bed and wrote with large letters "Dad, I'm leaving. Don't look for me. Enjoy your life. Good bye.". She then returned the pen to her purse and once more threw the bags over her shoulders and grabbed the trunk in her left hand. She moved stealthily to the door, constantly listening for any disruption in her father's even snores. The tricky thing would be getting down the stairs... 20 minutes later Grace had successfully made her way out the front door and set off down the road. The only problem now was, where would she go?
Present day Grace remembered the memory like it was only a week back, she could remember how the panic of her father waking up surged through her body, making her alert. She could also remember the small panic she felt when she'd gotten out and didn't know where to go. It had subsided when she reminded herself that anywhere was better than what she had just come from. At the end of it she found a hotel to stay in for the night until she could find a proper place. She had - believe it or not - some savings in the bank and if she got a job she should be able to find somewhere she could live. Fortunately, the hotel she entered were looking for a receptionist and as Grace stumbled in with all her belongings and explained who she was and what she was doing the manager - after interviewing her - offered her the job and a room to stay in at the hotel until she could afford her own place.Â
Where she would be now if not for that hotel manager, Grace doesn't know, she's just immensely thankful that he was there that night. As Grace's mind returned to the present and she noticed that it had started raining slightly. She pulled her keys out as she neared her shop and unlocked it once there, stepping inside and being greeted by the combination of smells from tea's all around the shelves. Â
Seems like I missed quite the party,
the police involved and all...whatever happened during this part-ay, eh?Â

Chances || Grace & Mason
Mason grinned a bit to himself, picking at his pie and washing it down with sips of coffee, a few curls dancing in his forehead as he was semi-bent over his food. He let the fork rest over the pie for a moment, stroking the warm iron between his fingers, while looking up with a cheerful expression at Grace. Averting his eyes with a soft (and a bit flattered) laugh when she admitted heâd changed her impression of him, Mason only looked up again when he could offer her quite the playful smile himself, quirking an eyebrow at her.Â
âIâm curious about you,â he teased warmly. âAn attractive woman I stumbled upon drunk as a sailor, who later agrees to give me a chance at redemption over a cup of coffee? That would intrigue most people.â It was true, actually. Heâd been so relieved when sheâd given him the chance to redeem himself over this bit of coffee, and he wasnât going to miss out on that. Because  really; he wasnât that bad of a person, Mason could even admit so to himself, without a conceited feeling. Taking more of a gulp of his coffee, Mason leaned back in his chair a little, ignoring the pie for just a moment. âHow longâve you been in the Cove?â Mason asked with a small, warm smile, studying her over the edge of his cup. Chewing the inside of his cheek a little, his blue is in slight shadow, he concluded to himself once again that she was indeed a very beautiful woman.Â
As Grace took a couple of bites from her pie her mind floated away with her until Mason's laugh spun her back to reality and she looked up in time to meet his playful smile at her. While she awaited Mason's answer to what he was curious about she fiddled slightly with her hands and fingers, locking them and unlocking them with her gaze focused on what she was doing her berry pie and vanilla sauce was left to stand on it's own with the fork leaned against the plate it was place upon. Though she was curious what had intrigued him, she couldn't help but be a little worried, what could he be curious about? At his words her cheeks flushed red and she replied smiling, though still gazing at her fingers "I see your point. That could be intriguing, indeed. " Though her smile was warm she dared not meet his eyes yet, something about the way he had said it made her a little unstable. She settled for taking another bite of her pie to give her an excuse to keep her gaze down.
It was still puzzling to her what he would want to know about her. There wasn't that much interesting about her, was there? Of course she was puzzled over him himself too, it wasn't often that you'd meet someone who'd want to redeem their first not-so-good impression on someone. To her, that was intriguing and her mind had thus far reached no other conclusion that he must be a genuinely good guy. She didn't trust her mind completely though, it had gotten her in trouble before. So though she accepted the explanation almost whole-heartedly part of her - that little voice in the back of her mind - was still slightly wary. Worrying that everything would take a turn for the worse in the blink of an eye. So far, it hadn't though and she really hoped it wouldn't because she was actually having a good time.Â
His question brought her back from her ponderments and she looked up meeting his gaze, and then letting her eyes wander, taking in his relaxed position. Placing her hands around her cup of warm chocolate she lifted it to her lips and took a sip or two to by her some time before she answered "I've lived here my whole life, I wasn't born here but moved here shortly after. During my time here I've taken trips out and then come back of course, to explore the world a little, but this has always been my home." she concluded with placing a light smile on her face and then lifted the warm cup once again to her mouth. "What about you, how long have you been here?" she asked inquiringly still holding the cup in her hands and placing her elbows on the table to support the weight of it.Â

It's not normal to sleep so much.
I think Iâm just coming down with something. My bed has been my best friend the past couple days.
Hm. That's not particularly good, have you considered any remedies of sorts? Like a hot cup of tea or cocoa with a couple of films or a good book?Â
I need something new to read.
Itâs in Troy Bay. Do you know Emmaline Roden? She owns it. Itâs a lovely store, too.Â
Well! That is awfully convenient seeing as how I live in Troy Bay! Wonderful! Not personally, but I've seen her around and heard others speak of her. She seems lovely. Oh that's fantastic, I must go visit it!Â

You look a bit tired and out of it, is everything okay?Â
