Pulling her hood up over her head, she took a deep breath and left the safety of her hideout. Hollie wasn’t sure as to where she was going exactly but she made sure to remain in the shadows so no one could see her. After some time had passed, the girl looked around the darkness to notice that there was also another set of footsteps that she could hear. Quickly hiding in one of the deeper door entrances, until the walkers passed. Involuntarily twitching with every step she took further into the night, Hollie tucked her frozen hands over her chest, hoping that, in some way, she’d be able to keep them just a few degrees warmer. Granted, her hoodie prevented her from pressing her fingers completely against her warm skin like she wanted, but sometimes, she had to take what she could get.
She looked rather ridiculous- her lack of a helm, messy hair blowing about her face, and her hands tucked as closely to her breasts as they could get with the attempt to keep warm. Yet, she couldn’t find it in her system to care. She was cold, and that was that.
Up ahead, there was a small black mound that she could see through the never ending darkness, and it seemed to be a fire that had recently been put out. Meaning, it could very easily be re-lit.
Hollie jogged over to it, pulling out two small rocks and smacking them together a few times to get a spark, and soon enough, the fire was burning once again. It was then that she noticed the fresh specks of blood on the floor, she wasn’t the only one wandering the road. There was someone else not to far from where she was.
“Who is it? I should warn you, there’s no way of getting in here without getting hurt and also I have a bat.” After she had finished her sentence, the words actually registered in her mind as to what she had said causing her to look down at the floor shaking her head and quietly cursing at herself.
