growing pains

you’re on your own, kid. make my way through the motions... i try to ignore it, but home's looking farther the closer i get. don't know why i can't see the end. is it over yet? a short leash and a short fuse don't match. they tell me it ain't that bad. now, don't you overreact. so i just hold my breath. don't know why i can't see the sun when young should be fun and i guess the bad can get better. gotta be wrong before it's right. every happy phrase engraved in my mind and i've always been a go-getter. there's truth in every word i write, but still the growing pains. growing pains: they're keeping me up at night.

hailey bieber. female. she/her.  ／  grace baldwin just pulled up blasting feel something by bea miller — that song is so them! you know, for a twenty-three year old lawyer/athlete, i’ve heard they’re really -discontent, but that they make up for it by being so +strong-willed. if i had to choose three things to describe them, i’d probably say black pumps with black pencil skirts, lace panties under silk slips, & taupe manicures. here’s to hoping they don’t cause too much trouble! (michellleeeee) 

grace baldwin was born to two high school students: alexis and jacob baldwin. alexis and jacob were seniors when alexis got pregnant but they decided to keep grace and give her the best life possible. alexis and jacob both worked minimum wage jobs and took like one college class at a time so they could support their little family and they were happy. they lived in a tiny studio apartment in brooklyn but they were happy. 

when grace was two years old, they realized there was something special about her. she picked up things really quickly... by the time she was in preschool, she was reading chapter books and she had an impeccable memory. as time went on, she breezed through school. she skipped fourth and fifth grade, and she was doing ap calculus in seventh grade. she was just... really fucking smart. she ended up graduating high school at sixteen and she got a full ride to go to harvard. she graduated with a bs in neuroscience and a ba in political science in three years and was accepted to harvard law school. by age 22, she was a licensed and practicing lawyer at one of the premier law firms in new york city. 

so?? it was important to grace’s parents that she be more than just “the smart kid” bc they wanted her to diversify SO they got her into sports and like?? bitch is uncoordinated. she CANNOT. soccer? no way jose. softball?? nope. but she was FAST. people took notice and she started in track and field and then??? turns out it was her hidden talent. she was smart and fast as hell. she continued with track and field and eventually??? she went to the 2016 olympics and won a gold medal and a silver. LIKE WHOA. girl went off. 

SO i’m sure ur thinking??? she sounds like she’s living the life right??? she’s gorgeous, athletic, and smart. what else could she want?? well 

she was very socially awkward. she had like negative friends and didn’t really make any until she was like eighteen. she didn’t really know how to talk to people but college and law school rlly helped with that and she’s better. she’s still not the most friendly but like poor girl 

she’s also a MESS like her apartment looks like a tornado went through it at all times. it’s not dirty but like she’s got clothes and papers and shit everywhere. but the girl knows where shit is.
