THE VAMPIRE LESTAT - 3.06 āMontrealā
on twitter dot com if you dare to enjoy a show they kill you
2x08 // 3x06 It was enough that he showed up.
What are you reading rn, why are you reading it, and what format are you reading it in (physical book, ereader, on your phone etc)
armand made his first fledgling in 500 years and immediately enlisted him in his ongoing deranged one-sided beef with his situationship from two centuries ago,, like he put that two-year old to work STAT
theyāre a million years old and theyāre sitting on a bench talking about their shared troubles but theyāre also blushing like teenagers when their pinky fingers touch and theyāre in the middle of two separate and one joint emotional breakdowns but theyāre imagining a future together because being close to each other soothes them š
the way claudia is always what brings louis and lestat back together. time and time again, from the moment she was born and their marriage was falling apart, to her death in paris, and then again in new orleans the first time they were able to grieve her together, ending a decades-long separation; and now once more the memory of her, the ghost that haunts them both creates a bridge, because no petty hurt they feel towards each other can compare to the chasm she left in their immortal lives. they both failed her in many ways and she died thinking itād never been about her, but now in death she binds them forever. now it is all about her, their love for each other inextricably entwined with their grief.
I am the first in my bloodline to hear louis and lestat be compared to taylor swift and travis kelce
I love that lestat has a petty song ready to go for whenever each one of his exes shows up in town
louisā coping mechanism for grief and trauma being delusion and danielās being drugs, while lestatās is just.. rock music is so funny, like whoās the crazy one here guys
I think he's in a really good place <3
louis, for all of his growth, is still in many ways the same heās always been. still living in a world of illusions of his own creation. as a human, he made himself believe he was a straight and pious man and a valued member of his community, as a vampire fledgling he wanted to believe that he could rise above his own killer nature, then he wanted to believe claudia could live and thrive as a vampire, then he believed in armandās lies and now.. regina. killing bruce gave him momentary satisfaction, but his go-to coping mechanism has always been lying to himself and living in dreamlands. presumably regina doesnāt look exactly like claudia, but louis is seeing her anyway, convincing himself that the way she looks matches exactly his fuzzy fading memory of claudia, using his own inability to remember every detail of her features to conjure her up in someone elseās face. he may have accepted his vampire nature (āhe owns the nightā) but heās still louis the pimp, still paying a poor girl to play pretend.
after two seasons of daniel being a dangerous player in the interview and outsmarting two powerful vampires with his wit, itās kind of fascinating to see him so out of his depth now. he knows ball but heās never played against lestat. heās never met someone more stubborn than him, and on top of that heās a baby vampire now! and lestat is using his inexperience and vulnerability to his advantage, beating him at his favorite game. how ironic it is to feel weaker now that youāre immortal than when you were dying
I've heard the songs. The songs are not about you.
Interview with the Vampire, 3.02 The Vampire Lestat ā "Toledo"
iwtv continues to be so smart in its portrayal of memories and trauma, the way lestatās memories of his family are so obnoxiously loud, everyoneās screaming all the time for no reason and everyoneās acting like caricatures, like an actual assault on the senses, as if lestatās mind is filled with unbearable noise every time he thinks about them. lestatās memories coming at him all fragmented and loud and violent, attacking him and beating him into submission as he desperately tries to escape them is such an interesting contrast to how louis would carefully weave a thread of his past pretending the glaring holes in it werenāt there
if I were an actor doing promo for a show and they made me do a tiktok dance or they sent me to talk about nothing on some podcast hosted by an instagram influencer for an hour when marketing stunts like the vampire lestat concert or the severance grand central station pop up are possible, I think I would just kill myself
says a lot about spn that nobody expected a secret good episode everybody was like yeah this was always going to be dogshit
