The Danlou dynamic so far in season 3 has been hysterical to me because those two desperately needs a friend to vent to but they literally have nobody that knows their entire life story except eachother. BUT they're still mad at eachother so they don't want to comfort the other person. Which ends up becoming two one sided confessionals with no comforting where Daniel is pouring this heart out about his maker-fledgling bond and Louis is like 😐 sounds weird, and Louis is talking about how the book hurts his feeling, his lingering grief over Claudia and Daniel is like 😬 well anyways here's the Talamasca.
THE VAMPIRE LEMUEL in INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE 3.02 ↳ insult received as compliment.
The devil to my minion
***don’t look at Daniel’s neck, or lack of wrinkles, I tried
louis: so how’s interviewing lestat going?
daniel:
y'all scream for sexual abuse representation but when it comes to lestat it’s suddenly “too much” because it isn’t some sort of airbrushed situation that can be mentioned once and never again
Okay but it’s so Armand to make his only fledgling feel like the rapture has come whenever he feels him.
It could never be conventionally romantic. It always has to be some spooky shit with him. Of course being connected to him feels like everyone else has been removed from the planet.
It’s not that everyone fades out and he’s the only person in the room like in a romance movie. It’s “we are alone on earth together because everyone else is dead. The entire planet is just one been liminal space and you and I were left behind by God.”
Which for them is in turn actually very romantic because they’re both freaks, so it’s incredibly beautiful and true to their book relationship.
