Happy 20th Birthday, Saoirse Una Ronan!

He looked back at her, and saw she couldnât see and so moved out of the way, and held out his arms. âPeople!âÂ
The Doctor grinned as he surveyed the situation. It was a canteen, but vastly empty- only around 10 there where it looked built for twice as many. They were all staring at the new comers. ââŠah.â The Doctor muttered, awkwardly and waved.
"Hello," Grace waved too but there were no responses from the people around them. She stopped waving and just stood there. She looked around the canteen, it looked old and mistreated as if no one ever cleaned it. Suddenly one of the men stood up and, without looking away from the Doctor and Grace  said 'They're humans! More humans!' Grace turned, looked at the Doctor and whispered, "What does he mean? Why is he surprised?"Â

"Alright!" He replied, a little indignant. He wasnât patient at the best of time but there was  such a thing as suspense. He pointed the sonic and the lock gave out a spark as the lock blew. The Doctor pushed against the door, grunting as the metal shifted and it swung open. "AhâŠhello." He waved.
She had been standing behind the Doctor, and therefore could not see anything inside the room. She raised herself on tiptoes and tried to see over the Doctor's shoulder but she couldn't see much. "What's in there?" She supposed it was people but she hadn't heard any voices.

"Alright, alright. Hold your horses. No, sorry, you donât have horses, hold onto yourâŠhair." He dismissed the conversation, taking out the sonic  and wielding it around, giving it a buzz before he checked the results. "Ah ha! Life signals a-that-away!" He said, pointing down a corner. "Come on."
Grace followed close behind the Doctor and when they got the corner he had pointed towards she just stood beside him. There was a metal door behind which shuffling noises could be heard. The blonde nudged the Doctor slightly while making a gesture towards the door with her head. "Well, open it."

It was a normal day, and Grace was just walking down the street. When she turned to the left into a narrow alleyway with old, battered buildings, she saw some lights coming out of one of the windows. She entered the building and ran up the filthy stairs. As soon as she got to the correct floor she ran down the corridor stepping over shattered glass. At the end of the corridor she stood in front of the door she knew led to the room the light was coming from. Inside, she could hear metallic noises and a high pitched buzzing. She hesitated a little but then opened the door. When she saw what was going on inside she just stood there, shocked.

Eden raised her eyebrows and stared at the girl expectantly. âYes?â She started wondering where this girl transferred from. Amity, maybe? She seemed like she could also be a Stiff, though. She wondered how long sheâd been in Dauntless.Â
"No, nothing," if she didn't start acting a bit more tough she would seem like a total idiot, she probably did already. Her initiation was one of the hardest experiences in her life, especially the physical part.

Eden gave her a small nod, then pressed the device against her arm with slight force, then let go, letting it sit there. âItâs honestly not that bad.â She pursed her lips slightly then crossed her legs, letting out a soft sigh.
"Well?"
"I- Uhm-" She was startled. Grace had expected it to hurt a lot more. She looked at her arm with a confused expression.

Eden nodded, taking a rubbing-alcohol soaked cloth and pressing against her arm lightly, cleaning the area before proceeding. She pursed her lips as she took the tattoo device in her hand and prepared to lay it on the girlâs arm.
"Ready?"
"Yeah," She wasn't as nervous as she had been earlier, and even if she wasn't really sure there was no going back now. Grace closed her eyes and held her breath.

"Tsk. Alright."
Eden held the device in her hand, scanning over the girl once or twice. She had to be a transfer. She looked nervous. She sounded nervous, too. That could be a weakness in the future, if she wasnât careful.
"Where do you want it?"
"In my right arm," She lifted her arm up as she said it. She tried to act as calm as she could, or she would seem like a total coward in front of the artist and that wasnât something you wanted people to think if you were in Dauntless.

Eden walked back into the room, holding a small device, a small container of ink, and the design.Â
"Scared?" She smirked at the girl as she sat down on a stool next to her. "Donât be."
She opened up the small device and placed the ink in, then shut it gently before scanning it over the design.Â
"No, I'm not scared!" She laughed slightly, but it seemed forced. She stared as the girl scanned the design. Dread spread over her body as time went by. When the girl wasn't looking, Grace took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
It stays in your gut for, like, five years.

Eden raised an eyebrow at her question. âSit on one of the chairs. Iâll get things set up,â she stated before turning and going back through the arch, then behind the desk where sheâd been sitting when the girl walked in to get supplies. This girl mustâve just gotten done with initiation or something, she was acting very wary, and thatâs generally how initiates act.Â
"Yes, Ok," Grace sat down on one of the chairs with her muscles tense. She was extremely nervous, but she didn't want it to show. She watched the girl as she set up the equipment and thought her expression might seem too forced, so she tried to relax.

Eden felt the corner of her lips tug upward as she saw what tattoo the girl picked, letting out a soft snicker. âCute,â she finally looked at the blonde after pulling the design down. âAre you absolutely sure? Because once its on there its not coming off.âÂ
"Y-yeah, sure," No, she wasn't sure but if that was what a Dauntless would do, so would she. Most of the time she regretted not choosing the faction her aptitude test has indicated, but she tried hard to fit in. "What do I do now?" she felt so stupid asking that question.
Tattoos (@ gracexclarke )
Eden pursed her lips, then let out a soft sigh before hopping off the counter. âYeah, this way,â she walked passed the girl and through a small arch, then to a wall on the left, which had many varieties of designs hanging on small hooks. âYou can choose one of these or give me something youâve designed.âÂ
Grace hesitated first but then followed the other through the arch. She just stared at the wall, she didn't have anything specific in mind so she wasn't sure what she wanted. After staring for what felt like an eternity, Grace pointed at a small design of a black butterfly. "That one."

Eden had been reading the newspaper when she heard a voice, âNah, weâre open. Whaddyaâ want?â
Eden didnât bother to look up from the newspaper for a minute or two before finally setting down to eye the girl who walked in. Sheâd never seen her before. Usually the people that come in are people getting more or initiates. âWeird,â she mumbled under her breath, examining the girl.Â
"Well, a tattoo, isn't that what this place us for?" Grace walked towards the counter looking around as she did. She didn't like the feeling of the place even though that's what most places in the Dauntless compound looked like. "Do you have any designs I can choose from?"
