On another rewatch I caught this moment that I hadn’t noticed before - you can just catch Tom saying “give me strength” under his breath when Ryder interrupts again. This poor man is fighting for his life.

anyway one of the most important parallels in all of the other bennet sister is the scene where mrs bennet comes into marys room at night to dig for information about ryder and prompts mary for the hairbrush only to not actually brush and plait mary's hair for her vs mrs gardiner coming in to say goodnight to mary and give her gentle encouragement about tom and mary offers her the brush without any reservations and mrs gardiner brushes mary's hair for her and listens to mary and plaits her hair for bedtime for her

I finished watching "The Other Bennet Sister" and it's enjoyable. For being based on a fan-made novel, it managed to capture the tone and spirit of "Pride and Prejudice". It's a comfort to watch Mary discovering that she's more capable than what some people think about her and found her own happiness. I hope there will be more slice of life British period dramas soon.
