The 23rd of June is Luxembourg’s non-canon birthday! It’s celebrated today because it’s Luxembourg’s National Day, also known as the Grand Duke/Duchess’ Official Birthday, though it’s never been the actual birthday of any monarch of Luxembourg!

Herdenkingsdag

Today, it is Remembrance Day (Herdenkingsdag) in The Netherlands. Originally made to commemorate those who lost and gave their lives in WWII, but nowadays encompasses all victims of all wars. At 20:00 o’clock on the 4th of May, there is two minutes of silence after a large bell on a war graveyard has been clanged.

The two minutes of silence is not only done by individuals, but also by big companies such as the Nationale Spoorwegen (national trains) who will stop in their tract for two minutes, or delay their departure by two minutes.

It is a very deep and emotional moment for the entire country. Many people cry and many people attend local commemoration ceremonies whereby wreaths and flowers are offered. Those who cannot attend one of those ceremonies often will follow it live on television.

Herdenkingsdag is followed the next day by Liberation Day (Bevrijdingsdag), where we celebrate our liberation from WWII. There are many parties and a liberation march on this day.

Today, I remembered that I’ve been neglecting this blog :(

As per YouTube’s suggestion, I have created a “Channel Commercial,” an approximately 1min video that shows what you can expect from my channel and calls for viewers to subscribe.

A friend told me it looked like I made it when I was supposed to be asleep, and I am proud to give viewers a channel with a “past midnight nonsense” vibe. All my best work has that vibe.

I'm hoping to make a cosplay ask video for a bunch of the questions I received here and never got around to answering. So I suppose this brings me back up to semi-hiatus Status. :D

Update: Mun and Hiatus Status

[[So, it’s been 2017 for 24 days now and I implicatively promised that I’d post again on this blog by now.

[[Most importantly, I’ve decided to extend the Hiatus indefinitely.  I don’t know when or if I will want to return to rping on tumblr, but I’ve found that I prefer rping on Kik.  It is easier to group rp, and tumblr’s penchant for impossible updates that make the mechanics of rping here on my phone very difficult are nonexistent/minimal on Kik.

[[So… for some important PSAs

[[I am not quitting tumblr for good or quitting the Hetalia fandom.  I have an idea in the works for an art ask blog for some Hetalia OCs I’ve been developing.  Once that’s started, I’ll be announcing it here.

[[I’m admin for a casual Hetalia rp group on Kik. If you’re interested, contact me through the messenger here, I still check that.  We’ve been a bit inactive since school started back, but we’re a great group where anyone can suggest and host an rp!  I will have to vett you to make sure you’ll fit in with the group and will comply with our rules.  Anyone 15 or younger will not be allowed in, since we have a lot of 20+ rpers who do not want to risk legal issues regarding minors since that could damage their careers.

[[Personal stuff…  Both of my sisters are doing well.  Once home and free of the military, my veteran has been braving the US Veteran Affairs system to get the medical and psychiactric care she needs, and she has been successful.  My other sister has been doing well, too, and is on track to graduate.  The MS only complicating the fact that she just turned 21 and has to limit her alcohol consumption. T.T  I finally have a bed in my new apartment, and my job is great.  I am still finding it difficult to balance life things, and I still need a cat, but I have hope that I can learn in time to make a career for myself and eventually be able to move to Canada where I can hone my awesome skills and where I could get paid to learn French.

[[I know that’s a really long time, but I’m trying to Scotty it.

[[My sister is coming home on a medical discharge in a few days.  Then I will need to go apartment hunting for my upcoming move.  Next I will be starting my new job.  It’s possible things might settle down after that, but I will not know when that will be exactly.  Then if I’m feeling up to it I might be trying NaNoWriMo for the first time.

[[So for now, I’m on hiatus…  but I will be trying to stay active on Kik!  If you want to try rping with me on there, pm me and I will send you my username!
