THIS MEDLEY. THAT IS ALL.
Love the vocals/lyrics. They fit so well with Homestuck's darker themes of death and loss.
Theme: Tribe of Heavenly Gods
Sometimes I think that Okami's art overshadows its music, which is a pity since the OST is just as gorgeous. This piece is so haunting and melancholic and sweet (for lack of a better description).
Theme: Savior of the Dreaming Dead
Love the chorals at the beginning and the bells at the end. This isn't a song about a funeral so much as an ascension.
Theme: Cara Mia Addio
A cappella covers at their finest.
Theme: Victoria's Aria et Fugato
Haunting, whimsical, and epic.
Theme: Faraway Promise
A beautiful story contained within one small melody.
Theme: Waka's Dance
Say what you want about Waka (from his infuriating flippancy to his calculating chessmaster tactics) but he had a stunning battle theme.
Theme: Aria di Mezzo Carattere (arranged by zohar002)
This piece sounds absolutely lush and gorgeous, like warm candlelight and a glass of Riesling. It really should be played in a grand opera house like it was in the game.
Theme: Symphonic Fantasies- Chrono Medley
This is, without a doubt, the best medley for Square's Chrono series that I have ever heard. Blue skies, firelight and shadows, winds that skim the water's surface- all those things are present in the music, which is a fantastic orchestral arrangement of the original compositions. It's a piece that inspires a strong emotional response, both from the nostalgic memories of the games and from the beauty of the music itself.
Theme: Moonsetter, Homestuck Vol. 9
It's not that Jake has never seen the ocean before (what with it surrounding the island and all) but he's never seen Dirk's ocean, not with the evening stars in the dark sky, not with the moonlight upon the white sand. He laughs as Dirk takes his hands and leads him into some kind of dance, moving quick and light on his feet. Together, across the sand, they make up the steps as they go along, dancing to a beat that only they can feel. This is what happiness feels like, Jake thinks. This is the way things are supposed to be.
Jake thinks this is some kind of dream but decides that even if was, things wouldn't be any less real. And the moonlight spreads across the endless waves that wash up on the shore.
