Holy fuck, that was phenomenal. The sprite work??? The talking sprites, too??? Amazing.
I knew that I was going to be heavily biased for this chapter, since Asgore is one of my favorite characters from Undertale, specifically. Seeing him take on this role, as the "king" of that world, was really cool and nostalgic to see. ALSO, seeing a side of him we haven't seen was fucking awesome, too. I adore morally gray / complex characters!!! I loved seeing Asgore's concern over Kris, too. Like, that's your CHILD, and they were HURT in YOUR dark world. Asgore was genuinely surprised to see Kris again, and was super remorseful that they were hurt. I think that's what got me the most.
Noelle and Susie were SO cute this chapter!!!! I really loved the dynamic they had together. I also loved how Susie kept thinking about Noelle in the dark world, and being vocal about it, too! She's grown so much as a character.
Fucking. Flowery. And the other flowers. They were awesome!!! I feel like Flowery is going to become a Tumblr Sexyman super quickly. Too quickly. I think my favorite one, besides Flowery, was Yellow! Not even because of the whole Woody Theory thing, though I was happy to mark Woody ref off of my BINGO board. He was genuinely a really cool character, and his dynamic / love for Blue was so so sweet. I really love characters like Yellow. Besides that, I don't have too much to say about Flowery, surprisingly. He played his part, his fight was tough, and was a cool character. His voice clips were really awesome.
I don't know if it is Weird Route exclusive, but what happened with Asriel??? I thought he was supposed to be part of the chapter, no? When Toby posted the translation things, wasn't Asriel there? Of course, I probably just missed this, since I've only played through chapter 5 once, but it still shocked me a little.
Anyway, these are just my general, messy thoughts post-playthrough thoughts on chapter 5. :)
