Just saw some tweets from the Dua Lipa wedding stuff and it always surprises me, that some fans believe that just because they do t find the partner of theor faves attractive. That means that couple shouldn't be woth each other. Like uhm thats not how love and attraction works.

oh there is still amazing book we are reading in one of my seminars about miscommunication in literature and the main character is supposedly a rather ditzy young woman who spends most of her time aborbed in a very romanticized idea of her life but then there is this scene where she and the man who is trying to court her are talking about vanity and attractiveness and she says those very wise words which you would not expect from her because while her suitor says beauty is objecitve she corrects him and explains how beauty can grow alongside feelings and how even the dullest and plainest face can become the most beautiful and enchanting when it is looked at by the right observer

idk i just thought that scene was so beautiful because it showed how despite her being so ignorant about a lot of 18th centruy reality, her romance novels did teach her to see beauty and love in perhaps unlikely places
