I have to make fun of Bronco because if I start thinking about how fucked up his life is I ironically start crying

Bronco is a grown man who has control over his actions, don’t get me wrong. He’s selfish, a bully and lowkey pretty misogynistic.

But god…. GOD. He had no control over his entire life. His abusive father forced him into doing something so terrible it left the two of them traumatized. His best friend has been plotting for his death ever since he wrapped that rope around his wrists. His dad is dead. Father figure sees him as a meat shield. Mother figure murdered him. He is constantly abused and humiliated.

Even if he didn’t kill Rook and landed in Prison, Simeon would have found some way to ruin his life (as long as he didn’t know the truth). He was destined to die. He has no friends. He has no family. His own body was desecrated and used as a worthless object. Bronco died alone.

it’s weird to me that AAI2 tries to make a connection between Shaun and Simeon bc out of all these characters with daddy issues and trauma, Shaun makes the least amount of sense. Like he didn’t even meet his dad.

If Bronco had a journal I feel it would be super performative. Bragging about amazing feats at work and defeating his opponents through mind games. And then random nights when his mental health gets REALLY bad he drunkingly writes down all of his deepest, most personal thoughts before ripping out the pages out of embarrassment and guilt
