Asked my sister if she’s seen any lions while in South Africa, she sent me this
Wild cub kitty with really big feets
Such teamwork. Many ball. So friend. Much adorable.
Powerful & creative imagery
the food and education made me sad.
I have always been fascinated by these ‘world of 100 people’ things, I remember spending hours thinking through the ones on a poster at church when I was 9 or so. It really, really makes some really important stuff so blindingly clear, in numbers we can understand. And it should, I hope it does, inspire us to act.
Amazing post.
i hope im one of the 7 people with a computer
It’s sad that more people would have a computer that an education
well, hold up. that’s college education, not public education or trade school. but even then, it’d probably only be in the 20s or 30s.

Squeeeeeee!
Subtle, Eamon, reeeeeeally subtle.
Sexism, classism AND self centered power-hunger all rolled into a few words.
Gods, I hate this guy.
Scheming bastard.
He's one of the best-written sociopaths EVER though.
I mean, no, really, of course he's a racist/sexist/classist bastard. A lot of people in the world are. That's not what makes him special or spectacularly vile, though.
It's the manipulation.
He's abusive. To Alistair, to Isolde, to Connor. Not physically, no, nothing that obvious. He's the much more insidious emotional abuser, the kind that sneaks into your brain and rips you apart and makes you think it's your fault because such an excellent provider like Eamon couldn't possibly be toxic. And he reinforces that mindset by occasionally coming up with gifts or gestures that are so meaningful and hard-hitting that it's nearly impossible to remain angry with him or think he's a bad person.
Take, for example, Alistair's amulet. It means the world to Alistair and he regrets breaking it as a child. So Eamon repairs it as if it's never been broken. Does this one incredibly thoughtful gesture erase the years of abuse and even the part where he threw Alistair out of the castle and made him sleep in the stable? Not if you're an outsider looking at it objectively, but to a long-time victim, yes it does. It makes everything better.
Eamon Guerrin is a horrible person, but he's so very fucking well-written that it makes him an amazing character that I, for one, love to hate on a personal level.
This is like the cutest thing ever. It’s from the gif-set I reblogged.
Taking its first steps, and after successfully doing so, the chick goes “Yay!”
It’s so freaking cute.
The experiments of Harry Harlow and his associates at the Primate Laboratory of the University of Wisconsin are described in the textbook Principles of General Psychology (1980 John Wiley and Sons)
Top 5 misconceptions about evolution: A guide to demystify the foundation of modern biology.
Version 1.0
Here is an infographic to help inform citizens. From my experience most people who misunderstand evolution are actually misinformed about what science is and how it operates. That said, here are five of the biggest barriers faced when one explains evolution - I have faced these and they are documented in the literature.
I hope you can build on my work and improve the communication between the scientists and the public.
Want to do more? If you want to donate to the cause of science education I suggest the National Center for Science Education http://ncse.com, your local university, or an equivalent organization. Volunteering at schools and inviting scientists into classrooms are two ways to encourage an informed society. Attend hearings if school boards start questioning evolution’s role in public curriculum. Raise a storm if anyone tries to ban science. Plus, it never hurts to reblog a well made evolution post. Thank you followers for all your support! Love, molecularlifesciences.tumblr.com

"No homo" cries the team at the dig site. The head archaeologist sinks to his knees, sobbing. He has dedicated his entire career to the pursuit of homo habilis, an important part of the hominid evolutionary line. All his work led up to this archaeological dig site. But now, his whole life has been for nothing. There is no homo….there is only Australopithecus.
I read this to a group of archaeologists and they completely lost their shit
