i doodle him so often but i dont think anyone here has seen him yet. snapper boxshell, dont worry about him. he's fine! there's a very clever method to his groundbreaking madness (get mad and shout at everyone).

a comic featuring my pocket mushroom, Korsikka, that i did for a rp group! their journey there has been such an interesting one so far. i'll be adding some context under the cut

korsikka is an ex inquest necromancer who specializes in spectra magics and the exploration of the soul. somewhere in their past they managed to learn how to detach themself from their physical vessel and gain the ability to wander freely, much like a ghost. typically they struggle a bit with speaking and moving so fast, so being out of body allows them to experience things without that dragging exhaustion.

i didnt add a lot of text because while i had an idea for how i wanted to this to play out in my head, i felt as if it could have multiple meanings to it, and i wanted to leave a little bit of that up to the reader. in korsikka's context it's like a play on how being alone and disconnecting from her self can be freeing, but struggles to accept that with some effort, she could also be that way around other people. not helped by the fact that in the inquest, the focus is all on progress! not so much on empathy, something she wouldn't have seen a lot there. her ability to connect with people overall is shot. i think though, it could be about a lot of things. one thing i enjoy is having others apply their context to my art, i think different views can be super interesting especially in the context of gw2. can you tell i like rping and sharing ocs and shit. "why is their soul pink" because their regular colour palette is like this jadeish colour and i thought it'd be a fun dynamic of colours. at last we've found it. the necromesmer.

but anyway........ this is my ramblings. sometimes an oc will spin in your brain.

i have been drawing him so often but i cant seem to get his body type QUITE right yet (he's supposed to be built like a crocodile or caiman) so have some real rough doodles of my new lad, Snapper Boxshell, under the cut. i will get to drawing him properly eventually when i eventually stop imagining him talking like dr eggman.

SO a bit ago I DMed a plot with @rata-whitz and had an utter BLAST. Played a sylvari named Bethan who use to be a mentor before falling down on hard times. When she discovered a recently created drug that bolstered one's magical capabilities, she quickly found it granted all the power she wanted. It was up to our party to stop this drug, especially when its darkest effect was revealed; it was slowly turning people into Margonites. Now I have a spikey purple mushroom and she's a mess <3

Gallo, the non-stop smoking asura belongs to @rata-whitz ! Gytha, the norn who managed to befriend this mess of a mushroom belongs to @guildwuff2 ! Jaehm, the asura with dreads and no time for this nonsense belongs to @adurolobe !

i have been absolutely consumed by WvW, even though im not very good at it. the current matchups have not been sparking me joy but in the past month or so ive had some incredible moments such as

RP walking through the whole map

RP walking to red base to die

Turning into snowballs to RP walk to blue base to die

Witnessing a guy build 40 siege golems and leaving them in Jerrifer's Slough

Using said golems to build a zerg to storm SMC

Promptly dying at the gates of SMC because the golems were defeated by a single oil cauldron

its the little things, you know

okay hear me out. i want to talk about playing soto from the perspective of a sylvari player. spoilers of course under the cut

it makes me so sad to listen to other sylvari npcs talk about mordremoth and what happened during and after the call. like... this is the first time i feel like we're actually hearing a lot of perspectives on what happened and how it affected the individual people. im here with my merry little salad man going around and hearing these sylvari talk about how they were found screaming or had no sense of self until after they joined the astral ward and im like... that's actually heartbreaking. that would definitely make my commander stop and think about that for a long while. these people felt they were so beyond repair that leaving their birthworld felt like the only option for comfort again. and only after are they done healing (which i firmly believe is a sort of like... deep soul healing in this context. you know. like an inner emotional catharsis. surely it must mean that) do they actually talk about it.

like... have we ever talked about it? (perhaps barely, in few places ive missed or in dialogues ive skimmed over, but especially in ithil's account, it really hit me for some reason) do any of the other sylvari talk about it? the trauma of an entire people that lingered on even after the main threat was gone... do they even know how to talk about it?
