Grayson. It had to be Grayson. She couldn’t believe it. When they had told her that they would marry Persephone almost fainted. She had always had such a major crush on that boy in school. She hadn’t seen him it over four years. Probably due to them both having extremely busy work schedules. Does he even know who I am? Does he even remember? They had only really interacted once when he saved her from a bully in high school who didn’t seem to want to keep his hands to himself. But she would watch him from time to time. Listen to him ramble on all his theories about the witch. He just drew her in.
Persephone let out a shaky breath as she blankly stared at her cup of coffee. She was sitting alone by the window at the local cafe where she went when she was on her break. She had been grading papers but was easily distracted about the news. She didn’t even know how to approach him. But fate seemed to intervene. She looked up as she heard the door open and her heart stopped. There he was. In his uniform. He had become a cop. She thought it very fitting for him. Her doe eyes took him in as she tried to compose herself and pray that he wouldn’t see her. What do I do? What do I say? She was flustered and on the verge of having an anxiety attack. She looked back down at her papers and tried to focus
Grayson ran a hand through his dark hair, a nervous habit he seemed to pick up during his college years, one which he wasn’t able to kick like he had with tapping his fingers on any surface. The reason why he was so nervous, was due to the fact that he just came from meeting with the Inner Order, where he finally learned who he was going to marry. The male wasn’t upset with who he was matched with, the girl with kind eyes who people never seemed to give a break. The same girl that Gray made sure to always watch out for through out their high school experience, but he felt guilty about all of this since it wasn’t like she choose him or even have a say in the whole matter. Hopefully she doesn’t mind having me for a husband. I wonder how she changed over these past four years. Course even if Persephone had changed, the whiskey eyed male would still remember her as she was through out their schooling.
After the meeting, Grayson made a promise that he’ll seek out the slightly younger woman, so they’ll be able to talk about all of this. Now however, he was hoping to grab a coffee and possibly something to eat before he headed off to work. A smile graced his lips as soon as he opened the door to the cafe, and smelt the strong scent of coffee washing over him which was already putting his nerves at ease. Bright whiskey hues glanced around at the already packed place, trying to catch a familiar face that he’ll be able to sit with, his brows scrunched together when he didn’t fully notice anyone one until they landed on a familiar woman sitting by her lonesome. A bright smile overcame his features, praying that she wouldn’t mind him sitting with her. Grayson ramble off his order when it was his turn, before gesturing towards where he’ll be sitting while he waited.
After he was finished paying, the dark haired deputy made his way over towards where Persephone was sitting. His smile never faded on his way over, but once he was close enough the nerves began to eat at him. What happens if she doesn’t want me to sit with her? What if I already screwed up, even though I haven’t said anything? Clearing his throat, and lightly shrugging his shoulders, Grayson carried on towards her before he was lightly tapping on the table, almost like he was knocking at someone’s door. “Hey.. Uh, I was wondering if I can sit here, since every other table seems to be full?” He questioned a brow raised, while a hand came up to rub his neck. “You also might not recognize me, but we went to school together. I’m Grayson, and you’re Persephone, right?” The male slightly rambled, almost hoping the floor would just open up, while whiskey hues glanced at the table which held a few stacks of papers, and took in what it was she was doing. A teacher huh? A brighter smile graced his lips, at the career choice and how much it seemed to fit her.
