What Tumblr is doing is so wrong in so many ways. 

Yesterday, December 2nd, marked my 8th anniversary on Tumblr. 8 years I thought I would always be able to look back and see how I’ve changed and grown. Unfortunately, now I can’t because Tumblr has decided to mark explicit and remove so many posts that DO NOT VIOLATE THE GUIDELINES. A picture of a collarbone is not explicit, a picture of a woman wearing a bikini is not explicit. The lack of discrepancy is completely unacceptable! 

This is so upsetting especially since Tumblr has always been a community for me NOT just a blog. When my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer Tumblr was the main community that supported me. I’ve made great friends and dated people I’ve met on Tumblr. This breaks my heart.

Delete the porn blogs but please don’t censor art!! Tumblr was the one place everyone could express themselves genuinely without judgement. These images mean so much more to so many of us!

Tumblr staff:

What you’re doing is wrong and I believe that time will show you that this was a really big mistake.

There are many other ways to make this site “more positive”, as you say, instead of limiting people’s expression. I’ve always been against the censorship of self-expression and this time is not the exception.
